Food quality was great. Bit more variety on the evening meals would help for those staying longer than 4 days but that is being picky. Fantastic breakfast - if there is something you want but cannot find on the buffet then ask the chefs - all very helpful. The spa was amazing and great for a rainy day. Location is perfect for walks and local communities. Room was cozy and comfortable. For 6 days we could have done with booking a bigger room - it is worth checking the options for longer stays - but the bed was super comfy and we wish we'd bought the robes.

The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar.

The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar. The receptionist was in a bad mood and had no customer care at all. it seems if he smiled he will get in trouble. Room was not ready until 5pm. the room had no view at all. There was no air conditioning and the weather was so hot. As for the lake view as beautiful, we walked around the centre, it was quiet and peaceful. boat ride was also fun.

A beautiful, well kept area of the lakes with plenty of shops and eateries. Great location for walkers to explore from and relax in the evenings…. Can get very busy in summer months but never disappoints no matter what time of year. Hope the area never changes and remains as picturesque for years to come and not ruined by ugly out of character buildings in the future. We need to preserve this iconic and picturesque area of our country for years to come

Ambleside is a great location to visit Lake Windermere and The Lake District. Pick 'out of season' if you prefer a less crowded destination. Loads to do rain or shine. Loved the Lakes Aquarium with my grandchildren and the Chocolate Factory in Hawkshead. And of course a boat trip on Lake Windermere not to be missed.

Fantastic little cottage right in the centre of all local amenities. Lots of pubs / restaurants on your doorstep. Everywhere was super dog friendly. Ambleside was a great base for us to explore the Lake District. the cottage was beautifully decorated, lovely and cosy, with a smart tv in both the lounge and bedroom. The hosts were great, brilliant communication and very friendly. Couldn’t recommend more!

The host went out of her way to help us with parking, they have some spaces on sste, some on the street opposite and another private car park not very far away. So this makes the guest house a very atrractive option as parking in Ambleside is scare.
