Large room with a comfy 'super king' size luxury Hypnos bed (although the mattress was perhaps a little too firm for us). The shower was fine, although we would have liked a bath as well - the room was plenty large enough to have incorporated this at the design stage. Staff were efficient and friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced apart from some soft drinks, and food prices were about what you would expect to pay in a pub. However, certain items were unusual, for example the pheasant kiev. Overall, a good hotel.

At breakfast, it was necessary to ask on 2 mornings for more bowls of fruit to be put out - perhaps someone should have been keeping a closer eye out for this. The fresh orange juice machine produced a good glass of juice, but it seemed that the used orange skins needed to be emptied from the machine more frequently to prevent jamming - this was a bit of a fiddly job. I suspect that just providing fresh juice from a carton or jug would be less problematic for customers and certainly for the staff. However, breakfast was plentiful and what you would expect on a 'help yourself' buffet.

Room was very pleasant & quiet (even though it faced the main road). Breakfast was good, plenty of choice & quantity. Location (for the Crucible) was excellent

The room was too hot at night even though the room thermostat was on * (frost) setting. From the roadside entrance it needs a clearer sign where Reception is located. I felt the cost of breakfast (think it was £14.50) was a bit high: £10 would be more reasonable for what was offered.

Excellent central location with helpful, friendly staff. Good breakfast choice included, made affordable by the removal of the cooked breakfast option which suited me.

Rooms a bit clinical but large & comfortable.

Ideal location in between Ambleside and Bowness. Good facilities on site; swimming pool, small shop, bar/restaurant. room had everything needed.

The apartment had a travel cot, even though we brought our own, there wasn't room in the bedrooms to put it up so had to have it up in the living room. Not a major problem though.

Not enough choice of main meals on the restaurant evening menu. Like a pub meal and all meals but too heavy fur us

In the end the morning staff were brilliant.

Location, location, location. It is (of course) not close to the airport, and the bus link was infrequent at night, and the desk staff pretty unhelpful about the early options, both at night and in the morning. In the end a staff member rescued the position. But pretty stressful.
