Best hotel in Leeds! It literally has everything you need - huge, comfy bed with great quality bedlinen including all other facilities being to a really high standard. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming, keen to help where they could which is always appreciated when travelling out of area. Nothing appeared to much trouble. We loved the room so much we were reluctant to want to leave it!

The booking process was good and the location of the hotel was fine. The food was OK but not exceptional. Drinks were nicely priced at £4.50 for a pint of Carlsberg. The interior architecture of the interior is spectacular an inheritance of its Victorian beginnings.

Although because of mobility problems we asked for a room near the lift however the room they gave us (125) could not have been further away from the lift (I reckon about 200 yards). We had to go to reception and they gave us a much better-located room (302). For the amount we paid for the stay, I think it's disgusting that we have to pay £5 per day for the car park. The room although comfortable was very basic with furniture that looked like it had been rescued from a car boot sale.

Location was good, not far from the royal mile (approx. 15 minute walk). Comfy beds, good shower, friendly staff on check in. Rooms are small but mostly the space is used ok. Modern lighting / door key system.

No plug socket or side table by second twin bed. No housekeeping during stay, and staff looked confused when asked if we could have a refresh. Would be fine if informed of this on check in. No hand towels (they don’t do them at all, which is odd). Curtain was very hard to close as half of it was behind bed into the corner and too stiff to pull across entirely and there was a light outside the window all night, so take an eye mask. Room is very hot, but air con very drying and hard to get right temp. Shampoo / body wash combo also very drying on scalp and skin. Bathroom door is a frosted glass and there is a slight gap on the fixture so not very private when using bathroom. Only 1 pillow per bed given, and as mentioned no hand towel - you have to go down to reception and ask for extras, no room deliveries. Overall just missing small touches that would improve the experience, but still keeping it in the ‘budget’ range.

Great Place for having a quick rest, take a shower and get ready for the next day. Affordable breakfast, simple but good.

The shower pods need more levels and hangers.

Loved the bar downstairs. the staff were all lovely and plenty of them to help including the charming door men.

The rooms were a bit of let down after you’d come from reception/ bar. Also thought there would be a coffee machine like the pictures. Complimentary drinks in the mini fridge would have been a nice touch but was just an empty warm fridge.

The concierge young guy was a breath of fresh air.

In contrast to two of the other three reception staff we met The rooms complex lighting was a pain, especially during the night when needing the bathroom and the shower didn’t work properly

Nice original building lovely grounds

Food was very average. Rooms are in a new part which looks like a travelodge. We apparently had upgraded to deluxe rooms but definitely not worth £150 per room per night!
