It was basic but that was OK but the toilet was so tight against the wall it was difficult to use but the shower was very roomy Funny enough I thought the bed would be uncomfortable when I sat on it but it turned out OK Some might like the situation as it was on the main street but it was noisy at night, really depends on what you want. I was only there a couple of days so in some ways the location offset the noise The lady who hadled the reception and any issues was very friendly and helpful

I thought it would have been like an old pub with rooms and a bar downstairs although there was clearly a restaurant in the building I just assumed that was part of it, but in fact the restaurant was the whole downstairs and the George Hotel was actually just some rooms with a small reception desk at the side then the rooms on a couple of floors above. The rooms were clean but the stairs and general landings were very dated I guess you get what you pay for and maybe because I have mainly stayed in Europe my expectation level was higher than the price maybe allowed. England generally was more expensive than I imagined so probably if you just want a room for a night of two to put your head down it was reasonable but there are no facilities, no bar or sitting area or parking

Breakfast was lovely, nice choice of continental and cooked. Staff excellent. Night duty got us a drink from the bar that we had in the lounge having come In from our function late. Gardens/grounds lovely - some redevelopment. Rooms quiet and clean, had everything I needed

Great warm, friendly welcome and introductions from lovely owners. Spacious off road parking and a quiet environment. Room had all the space and facilities i needed. Breakfast was a feast, but a wide selection to choose from. Hope to return and chat railways.

Host was really friendly and informative. The balcony was blissful, beautiful view ,quiet and actually quite tranquil considering the location. Incredibly clean and an array of toiletries to use for showering.

There's a no shoe's policy upon entering the property, to keep the floor clean obviously. The property is laminate throughout, no rugs or carpets. It feels alien to me walking around in just my socks, it's not something I ever do at home. I'd advise taking slippers but I'd check with the host first that it's ok.

Beautiful bar and restaurant area. The bath was so deep and the bed was very big and comfortable! I loved the little extras in the room such as the toiletries, coffee machine, dressing gown and slippers.

Was a little disappointed that we had loose messy wires under the TV and the TV itself was glitchy which was a shame. I wasn’t keen of the blue colour of the bedrooms walls.
