The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centers. Well-known for its M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it's also a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.
Most city center hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping center, and behind that is Digbeth Bus Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.
The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Center) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.
Just across the street is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modeled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.
The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top soccer clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

The people of Birmingham, I love you, my paternal grandmother was born and raised and died there...but I hated my recent stay. Hated it. Its being redeveloped faster than the city or its people can handle and it is grubby and dirty in a way it hasn't been since the nineties....and as for the vermin at the concert we attended, who spent the entire time shouting into one another's ears about some family situation and then getting snappy and snotty, very loudly, because one of the ladies had drank too much and her husband got the hump (the only thing that saved him from a savage blow to the back of the head from me was the fact I was with my children, but I had to spend most of the second half of TT talking myself down from crippling the ugly pig) were local so thanks for them, they have reflected upon you all really badly. Between the hovel of an apartment that we were conned into renting via Booking.com and the literal human garbage in front of us at the concert, I have vowed to never spend another moment in the city I once adored so.

We went to Birmingham to see Michael McIntyre at The Utilita Arena .We stayed overnight but would have liked an extra night .We visited The Kitty Cafe which was lovely ,there is an £8 charge per adult and a lesser charge for children to spend one hour in the cafe ,but this money goes towards the cats ,who are rescue cats looking for a new home .We loved the canal area ,which was popular with loads of pubs and restaurants. We had lovely Tapas in the Bullring at lunchtime .We eat at Bistro Pierre by the canal in the evening which was enjoyable .

Fair walk from Hotel to Arena and a bit confusing but it was a nice day luckily and happy lots of other people around late at night and canals lit up so felt safer. Lots of beggers unfortunately that made it a not so pleasant walk.
When I booked other hotels in Birmingham were charging 3 or 4 times more for a twin room. The Station Inn was clean and exactly what I wanted for a single night's stay. The staff were both friendly and helpful, and the fried breakfast served in the bar was exactly what was needed after a night out. It was also very easy to travel into Birmingham City centre from the nearby station.
The Clayton Hotel is an excellent choice for those seeking a luxurious stay in central Birmingham. Five minutes walk from the Bullring Shopping Centre and downtown. The staff were very helpful and definitely went the extra mile for us. The room/bathroom was super clean and had good facilities. The amazing breakfast buffet was a definite highlight of our stay.
The hotel is very conveniently placed, close to Birmingham City Centre and within walking distance of the local tram stop.
The hotel is a little dated, but it is a pleasant place to stay and has a certain charm about it. The staff were helpful and the facilities were good. We really enjoyed breakfast and found the room to be comfortable.
It's within walking distance of the train station. Well maintained property with really lovely amenities. Coffee machine was a really nice touch. Bathroom is gorgeous. It's closes to restaurants and bars. I've stayed in many hotels in Birmingham including one where I earn points, this is my favorite and I'll be back next week. Lol.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the room exceeded our expectations — it was beautiful and very comfortable. The Grand is a lovely, stylish hotel in the middle of Birmingham. Perfect location for arts and cultural events as well as sight seeing. I would book again and highly recommend to others.
The hotel was a short bus trip from Birmingham City Centre. The facade and interior of the hall were lovely, we stayed in an area just outside the hall. We spoke to two members of staff throughout our stay for check in/ check out and they were both very helpful.
The ambience in the hotel was pleasant, and relatively nice views. The walk-in shower room was luxurious! Room was great, comfy and clean. Breakfast was really good and staff on hand were helpful. Birmingham Central station was a short walk away.
The hotel is good.
In the city centre of Birmingham

Perfect location for train station and just a short walk to China town and the rest of the heart of Birmingham city centre.Hotel staff very helpful the room in which I stayed was was spotless and comfortable.
The hotel is an IBIS in a Motel style, it provides exactly what it aims to provide, relatively low frills, but clean, comfortable and functional at a good price not far from Birmingham City Centre.

Bit of a long wait at the bar for a drink in the evening
Staff were helpful, went out of there way to help. Parking was good. Hotel and room were clean. Close proximity to Birmingham City Centre and Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
This is a no frills budget hotel a few minutes drive from airport. It was very clean, if in need of some redecoration. Clean compact and very close to airport.
