If you like going to the theatre, museums, restaurants and events; Melbourne is your city. Hadestown, Beetlejuice, a range of amazing restaurants. Each time we come here we pack in as much as possible and leave exhausted but elated. Even if we stayed longer we would just aim to see more. Often it is not until you arrive that you discover some other gem you can indulge in. Come well rested, with a half packed suitcase, some prebooked tickets and plans. You will leave with a full suitcase, a wealth of new memories and plans to return. Favourite places for us: theatres, Rose Street markets, vintage clothes shops, Botanic gardens, museums, Omi 380 restaurant, Street art tours. Chinatown's Shanghai Street restaurant on Little Bourke has great food & although often full, they're very organized & you typically only wait 10 or 15 minutes for a table. The food is worth the wait! Melbourne is very easy to get around on public trams & trains & has very good shopping & a high standard for food/restaurants. The lanes & arcades in the city are really worth checking out for hidden foodie spots.
