A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

First time in Melbourne, good and enjoyable place to go.
Believe all the basic tourist spot has been covered.
But should need to spend more time in this City for a in depth knowledge.
Possibly due the surrounding of this City, each tourist location will take a long time in traveling; be aware if u not get use to a long car trip everyday.

I wouldn't call this a holiday destination hotel or anything like that, but for a clean, comfortable stay a short distance from Melbourne airport, well serviced by public transport, and reasonably close to the CBD it is perfect. Anywhere else I would have said it was expensive for what it was, but given the prices of other hotels the same distance or closer to the airport, it was reasonable as these are very expensive in Melbourne.
First time staying here at the Holiday Inn and certainly won’t be the last. Great location, walking distance to CBD,Southbank. Facilities were spot on with a great bar,and restaurant area and the staff were excellent. Parking was great and the bonus with signing up as a member provides you with a bonus late check out. This will be our go to hotel for stats in Melbourne from now on.
Great location for walking in all directions around Melbourne CBD. Very close to the Vic Markets and Southern Cross Station. Very clean rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in the attached apartments building rather than the hotel so it was a bit more like an air b'n'b experience. The apartment was small but felt spacious, it was clean and comfortable for four adults.
The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore Melbourne CBD which we did on foot. Handy to great restaurants and shopping. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Apartments are clean and comfortable.
Situated perfectly in close proximity to Melbourne CBD. This newly built Hotel really does accommodate. Very modern with chic furnishings. The buffet breakfast with the city views is a must.
