Brixton is an up-and-coming urban oasis in London. With the UK's best private market it has loads of independent cafes and restaurants, the famous Ritzy cinema is a must and the O2 Brixton Academy plays host to some of the best bands in the world. Brixton tube is literally a 2-minute walk from the flat and is 4 stops to Victoria station and 10 minutes to Oxford Circus. There are also busses outside going direct to everywhere from South Kensington to Trafalgar square.
