The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The room was comfortable and the grounds were beautifully maintained. We enjoyed our meal very much, and the staff were very helpful, providing us with extra milk and teas.

Position position position!! Absolutely perfect. Efficient booking, check in & independent arrival- a no fuss stay which is what we wanted

The entrance is scruffy. The courtyard untidy so initially we were worried but once through the front door we were delighted

Always wanted to stay in an old house in Scotland, it lived up too our expectation.

Old, quaint but very well maintained and furnishings and decor very high standard

Staircase to car park could do with a lick of paint and a new door! Doesn't fit rest of the hotel!

Nicely decorated excellent toiletries. The local Welsh cakes were a nice touch.

The bed although extremely comfy seemed too big for the room.

Staff very friendly & helpful.

Sofa bed firstly wouldn't pull out because of rug half under it , then when rug moved bed part didn't work so luckily there was only 3 of us so my son was able to use the sofa part as a single bed , otherwise we'd be in trouble.

I will let you do the maths as to whether you think this hotel has lost its way when charging for food and drink Captive audience London bar prices with a pint of Amstel £6.00 - single spirit £6.20 6 small deep fried chicken wings £13.90 2 small croissants, 2 small yogurts, 2 bruised apples and 2 unripe oranges oh and two packs of biscuits (free in the room) ££25.00 And the third morning we had paid £25.00 for breakfast and they forgot we ordered and couldn’t be arsed to make one up so we was fleeced for £25.00 no offer of a refund!!!! Do Not book bed and breakfast if you have an early start at the weekend, I will tell you as the hotel website doesn’t (booking.com) breakfast is served an hour later at the weekends compared to a weekday and if you don’t know that that’s your fault! Also check what else is on at the weekend and if they have coaches booked, the hotel is massively understaffed and you could stand waiting for drinks whilst the kitchen bell rings constant for a food order to be taken out (which means it’s been under a hot lamp for ages) It’s massively disjointed in its service plan, nobody takes ownership of anything. If you can’t find another option I suggest booking a top floor room so you’re not the one suffering the floor boards from above take earplugs as mattresses are loud and old, WiFi non existent. This hotel makes you questions how the chain BEST WESTERN has not been rebranded “WESTERN” If you have not got my gist it was a very expensive and disappointing lesson I stay in approximately 40 hotels per year and this hotel is the worst for years
