Next to the Valley Gardens in central Harrogate, the Studley Hotel has a refurbished lounge, cocktail bar and terrace. The friendly, 4-star hotel has an award-winning restaurant and free Wi-Fi.

The room was clean and comfortable but slightly cold. Breakfast on the Friday was good - buffet, but the weekend breakfasts were a disaster. Location of the hotel was ideal as one could walk to all parts of the town easily.

The West Park Hotel, hotel in Harrogate

Right in the heart of Harrogate, this contemporary boutique hotel offers luxurious bedrooms and suites overlooking the beautiful 200 acres open parkland of The Stray.

The location was quite good overlooking a green area; the room itself was an adequate size. Breakfast was very nice but not worth £20 each in my view.

FAQs about hotels in Harrogate

Sophisticated Victorian Spa Town

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.

The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.

One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.

Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.

Options on Booking.com include 5-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments near the train station, and guest houses with parking. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport to the south.

Harrogate is lovely and our only regrets were the food on offer in the hotel restaurant plus the attempt to rip me off when the bill came. And we would have liked a bit more time so as to visit Bettys tea shop

Harrogate is a very pretty town and makes a good base to explore the area. It has lots of good restaurants like Piccolino, The Tannin Level or Oliveta and many great cafés including the famous Betty's. There aren't many sights in the town but it's very pleasant just to walk around and enjoy the architecture and gardens. Harlow Carr RHS Gardens is worth a visit. Historic York is only a 35 minute train ride away and gorgeous Knaresborough only 15 minutes on the same route. Still, you'll need quite deep pockets as everything is at least as expensive as in London.

RHS Harlow Carr is my favourite place to visit and the purpose of my trip. I ate at the Old Swan Hotel where I stayed. Pretty easy to get around although there are a lot of one way streets and sometimes it is tricky to drive down some of them due to double parking on each side as the roads can be quite narrow. I would keep to the main roads next time.

Fantastic Boutique Hotel close to Harrogate City Centre (5 min Walk). Free on street parking via permit provided by the hosts, no problem getting a space. Superb nights sleep on a very comfortable bed, the room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Breakfast was a particular highlight with lots of choice, fresh produce and excellent quality for a good price Excellent communication from the hosts before during and after our stay- I'd highly recommend this for a stay- we will return. The location in central Harrogate is excellent for the Royal Hall and the International Conference Centre. The room was spotless and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was available at the Camberley Hotel next door and was delicious. The little things made a big difference eg the quiet bathroom extractor fan and the double glazing on the windows. The curtains were thick and cut out the light completely. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The facilities were fantastic! The spa is a massive perk and very relaxing. The restaurant was nice and food - while small in portion size- was very enjoyable. All areas of the hotel had a fantastic atmosphere and staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The location is ideal, it is in the centre of Harrogate while still isolated from the busy streets, it was a 10 minute walk to the train station, allowing us to really explore Yorkshire!

The room was superb. it had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were available instantly at any time. The proprietor went the extra few miles for me as I had a flat Tyre and he basically saved the day and made such an effort to help us out of a situation on a Sunday morning. But the hotel itself was clean, tidy and excellent to stay in. If we return to Harrogate we would be here again with out question.

It was only a fifteen minute walk into Harrogate , passing the railway station on route, which has regular trains into York (40 mins). The property felt like a granny flat attached to the owners property (that’s not a bad thing). Equipped with everything you need, not badly furnished, off street secure parking at the property was a bonus. Overall not bad value for the price 😀

This property is beautiful and located in central Harrogate. The rooms offer beautiful views of Harrogate’s iconic landmarks and is less than 10 minutes from the train and bus station, movie theaters, most restaurants, bars and clubs. Even the iconic Turkish baths is just up the road. Next time I come to Harrogate, I will be staying here again.
