Staff were amazing especially Tonny on reception, the lovely Karjal who helped my Mum who was scared to go down the escalator, Lily in the restaurant and the concierge who also ran to help Mum with her trolley. The dinner meal at Ollie's was perfect. We booked the river casino view. If you can afford it please do. The night lights are beautiful.

FAQs about hotels in Melbourne

Buzzy Jewel of Aussie Rules

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.

Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.

South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.

Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

Staying on Spring street allows instant access to Parliament, Parliament Gardens, historical.sires, fabulous cafes like Excello - highly recommend for breakfast and lunch! And The European for lunch or dinner is pricey but superb 5- star food and unpretentious staff. Grab the free tram round the CBD, visit the magnificent St Patricks Cathedral, visit Exhibition Gardens and the Museum or have a drink on the Rooftop Bar at The Imperial Hotel.

So much to explore in the CBD.

So much to explore in the CBD. A Free Tram Zone in the CBD is also a bonus. There's a City Circle tram that stops at some Melbourne highlights. I spent 5 hours at the Melbourne Museum, and there were a few schools also visiting at the time so that's something to be aware of. Lots of places to eat, in and around the small side streets. It's so peaceful walking around the many different gardens. Can't wait to visit again!

the transport system means you can go anywhere easily and cheaply. Lots of different things to see and experience. We loved the museums and heritage but also the night life. It was great to 'discover' places in alleys and tucked away. People were friendly and we always felt safe, even after midnight. Its a clean place, but there are lots of birds about if you are eating outside. Huge variety of options for food. honestly something for everyone and at every budget

Melbourne is a great place be!

Melbourne is a great place be! My family spends one or two nights there to relax, enjoy eating in restaurants/fast food, have coffee & massages, have haircuts, do our shoppings, play at Strike and Latency Zero and go to clubs/pubs. Either when you take a train or take a plane, spending time at the Spencer Outlet which is right above where the train station is and the regional bus terminal is (incl Skybus for your airport transport) is a bonus allowing & giving you more time to do your last minute shopping & relaxation!

The location is perfect. Situated in the heart of the CBD. Tram stop out at the front door which makes it easy to get around the city. The rooms are quiet generous in size. Blossom’s Roof top bar make delicious pizza’s which go down well with a cocktail and the staff are very helpful. We travel to Melbourne every year to watch footy and have stayed at a lot of different hotels. There is lots of walking involved to get to them. I think we have found the perfect location. This is our second stay here and I know we will return again.

It is beautiful scenery in balcony of 1 bedroom apartment. It is very NICE of 1bedroom apartment more spacious with dish washer and washing machine than Melbourne CBD Hotel rooms. Reception staff are very friendly. I left valuable in lobby and he did CALL to inform me and hold in office for me. It is very GOOD of family with children to stay in 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen facilities etc. It is EXPENSIVE to go out to eat in Melbourne for dinner relatively to Brisbane and Adelaide.
