I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh.

Room was nicely upgraded, very clean, & the TV coming out of the end of the bed was a nice touch. Great little bar attached, we noticed that all the tables were reserved so must be good food. We were meeting friends elsewhere.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Possibly 3 days to encompass most of the main places of interest. The Royal Yacht Britannia (with afternoon tea) should definitely be on your itinerary. So much history and so many places of interest to visit. Everyone is so laid back and helpful.

Edinburgh is a wonderful city, it combines the Middle Ages and modern architecture. There are many interesting monuments, buildings, structures. And there is a whole history behind all of this. The transport interchange is also very convenient. There are many buses in different directions, but at the same time they do not interfere with enjoying the city, as, for example, in the center of Dublin. It is also very convenient - from the airport through the whole city and the center to the other end, directly to the sea and the royal yacht "Britannia" there is one tram. In one short visit (3 days) you cannot see everything in Edinburgh, you cannot enjoy it. Therefore, plan your time :)

The city has an old town feeling, with many little shops (skip the souvenir ones). There are plenty of book stores, antique print shops, coffee and pastry cafes to keep you occupied. But the highlight was the Military Tattoo which takes your breath away.

Easy city to get around with all the trams and buses.

Easy city to get around with all the trams and buses. Beautiful city with lots of history. Would highly recommend attending the Tattoo, it was spectacular. The Princess Street Garden and Park is a great place to walk with lots of points of interest. Recommend the hop on hop off buses to get from one area of the city to another, It's saves a lot of walking. A 48 hour pass will get you to all the areas of the city including the Royal Yacht Britannia. The Waterson book store on Princess Street has a really nice cafe with comfortable seating on the second floor and a fantastic view of the castle. The Vennel Steps next to the Milkman coffee shop has another great view of the Castle. Overall a must see part of a Scottish adventure.

Edinburgh is probably one of the nicest places I have visited. It's so beautiful and historic. Just wonder around and look in all the alleyways and nooks and crannies of The Royal Mile not forgetting Victoria Street with all the colourful shops and Grassmarket with pubs and restaurants head up to Greyfriars Kirkyard . Would really recommend doing the hop on hop off bus tour it's FREE for children under 15yrs. Princess Street Gardens fantastic views of the Castle. So much to see and do....

I love the views of the skyline in Princes Street and walking in the New Town, the Georgian area of Edinburgh. Plenty of good restaurants and places to see. My favourite place to eat there was Browns in George Street. Easy to get around since excellent bus and tram services. Although a solo traveller I met up with friends and family there so wasn't on my own much. I felt comfortable eating alone in the hotel restaurant at night. Staff were friendly.

Fantastic hotel for the money. Second time we have stayed here. Easy access off the bypass and lots of parking although it had doubled to £8 since our last visit. Don’t be put off by the hotels distance from the city centre. There is a tram spot about 100 meters away which takes about 10 minutes to get into the centre of Edinburgh which is excellent. The swimming pool is the perfect size for for a quick dip or if you have small children. Staff are very polite and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Not far from city centre. Bus stop outside No.34 & No.35 takes you into city centre (10mins) We also downloaded City Cabs app for taxi to airport £32 Bar/restaurant 2min walk & local shop which sells everything. This tiny, nice apartments are an excellent compromise between the big hotel fares located in the city centre and his position pretty far from Old town (30 min circa by foot). The neighborhood is calm and safe and our room (apartment 4) despite the little space available, was perfectly clean and organizated. If I came back to Edinburgh surely i will choose Beaverhall again.

This was a relatively cheap ( by Edinburgh standards) 2* hotel, so I wasn't expecting too much. The room was large and reasonably clean, although it wasn't cleaned the second day of our stay. Not too far from the city centre with buses nearby.
