A lot of our enjoyment was weather dependent - beach, sea- open top buses £12 day pass for 5 of us ( one a 2 yr old). Grandson wanted to ride them all day - great way to travel from south to north bay and to visit Peasholme park. Attractive beach and backdrop - good to have beaches where dogs allowed but also where not allowed too. Attractive harbour where could get cheap short rides on 'pirate' boats out to sea. Sealife worth visiting esp on coastal open air train ride- log flume , boats and cafe etc at station. Variety of restaurants.Guest review byjacquelineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Such a beautiful seaside town!
Such a beautiful seaside town! We are already planning to go back next summer (we will definitely stay in different accommodations!!) The beaches are gorgeous and sandy (not a stone in sight!) and there is so much to see and do in town. It was very busy when we went (last weekend in August) due to the Pirate Festival! Was great to see though - very impressive costumes!Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Harrogate is a very interesting place.
Harrogate is a very interesting place. It has plenty of history. We particularly liked the Pump House because it explained how much work went into running and maintaining a spa. The parks and gardens were lovely. Well kept. It's a shame one can't taste the watersGuest review byGraham - 10.0
Skipton exceeded our expectations.
Skipton exceeded our expectations. We were only there for the weekend for a celebration of a wedding. We got a day to explore. So much on offer! Canal boat trips, walks, castle local market on in the High Street. Lots of winding alleys to sweet independent shops and bakeries. More bars and pubs and cafes than I've seen anywhere! Beautiful Town Hall with a fantastic little museum that was great for kids too, with lots of interesting hands on experiences. I highly recomend a visit. Great 'Makers Market' going on too in the hall. A super base to see the Dale's and surrounding area.Guest review byTownsend - 6.0

Like every other town could do with a bit of a facelift and money into it. Not much to do but nice peaceful and could do with a good Chinese as our takeaway was awful!! Cobbles all over were awful and some areas cars were driving over loose rocks and god knows what damage to the undercarriage to their cars . Very long drive for only two nights don’t think we’ll ever be backGuest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Knaresborough is a lovely little town with a fabulous iconic view from the castle over to the viaduct. Beautiful walk at the side of the River Nidd to St James' Retail Park and visit the Watermill Cafe on the edge of the river.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river, birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. It also lacked a really busy main road cutting through (at least, from where we were staying) so not much traffic noise and easy to get about without getting knocked down!Guest review byo loan - 10.0
Been a few times to Filey for day trips but never stayed.
Been a few times to Filey for day trips but never stayed. First time we'd been up into the town, was pleasantly surprised by the lovely independent shops, lovely bars and restaurants. Beach was beautiful, one of the best I've seen on the east coast. Will definitely return.Guest review byPatUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Thirsk is a wonderful old market town surrounded by farms.
Thirsk is a wonderful old market town surrounded by farms. Town centre is quite nice & charming. Some of the surrounding area is a bit run down. St. Mary's is a beautiful church, Monk Park farm is great for kids to see animals hands on. People are friendly. I could have stayed longer.Guest review byShaylonUnited States
