I was lucky to have picked Anjo for my visit to the Maumere area. It's a real gem, just 5 min from a quiet beach and 10 min from town. The service level of the entire staff is definitely up to western standards. The food in the restaurant was delicious and some of the fruits and vegetables come from the property's own garden. You might be tempted by some of the beach accommodations in the area, but the people I met in the restaurant and at a snorkeling tour who stayed closer to town all struggled with sleep due to traffic and karaoke parties, which seem common practice. They wished they had booked at Anjo. So, from one traveler to another: look no further.

If heaven on earth exists, then Ketanu is undoubtedly it…and even that feels like an understatement. Perched on a hill in the heart of Sumba, this place is a true slice of paradise. You’re surrounded by endless rice fields, with lush jungle stretching out to the right where the sunsets melt into breathtaking shades of pink and purple. To the left, the ocean glows, calm, pristine, and impossibly white, like something out of a dream. I completely fell in love with Sumba during my stay here… but even more so with the people. The staff at Ketanu don’t just provide service, they welcome you like family. From the very beginning, they remember your name, your preferences, and make you feel genuinely seen and cared for. A special mention has to go to Yonis, who was my guide during my stay. He took me on several tours around the island and went above and beyond to make sure every experience was exactly what I wanted and more. His care, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made my time here even more unforgettable. The food is incredible, the rooms are stunning, and there’s this unexplainable magic in the air where time seems to slow down. It’s the kind of place that gently pulls you back into presence… back into nature, back into yourself. I traveled here solo, and it was perfect, but I could just as easily see it being magical for couples or families too. If you’re craving a reset… a deep exhale… a reconnection to the earth and to yourself, book this place. You won’t regret it.

Everything! Quiet, personal, amazing amazing service

We were there for our anniversary. They arranged for a candle light dinner, decorated the place and it was wonderful. We had a great time and everyone took care of us exceptionally well. Don't think. Just book.. we will certainly come back again.

Modern and clean Wifi was working well for working remotely The staff are super attentive and nice and the communication was very easy. A few minutes ride awys from the main road

The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was decorated beautifully and wirlth a lot of love, it has a great pool looking directly at the ocean. And I was at Villa Boreh before so could just walk across. Perfect location for me. Also super supportive organizating a rie for Les waterfalls and to find an additional driver for my friend from a different hotel. Also the internet was one of the best I encounteted here in Bali. And it was quiet and a beautiful balcony. I can highly recommend it! Thank you 🙏

We spent great time at Uma Kalai, beautiful and quiet place with views of rice fields! What makes it exceptional is the team and hospitality. Special thanks goes to Mr Dicky & the team for taking care of us at the hotel, and Mr Rana, not only driving us safely around the island but telling us about history, life and religion of Bali. When we come again we will stay at Uma Kalai, and stay longer than four nights!

Perfect accomodation for a couple. Beautiful place, with a very nice swimming area. The room with a private pool we chose was cozy and everything was so cleaned. The personnel always very kind and ready to satisfy any inquiry or request. Upon arrival they welcome us with a fresh towel and drink which was seriously appreciated. Security in front of the villa at any time. Location very near to the mai beaches of Canggu. We loved all!

We got a free upgrade and our bungalow in the adults only area was really stunning. Except from the mosques nearby (that can be heard quite well, but we didn’t mind) a really peaceful and beautiful place. Great staff. Will go back soon
