Positive section of review
Free breakfasts were very good, not just a continental breakfast that's frequently available in hotels. The location is decent. Easily walkable to paths along the Willamette River, the air tram (~15 minute walk) and some downtown shopping (~20 minute walk). Staff was very responsive to requests for towels, toiletries, etc. The hotel is pet friendly, but I saw no signs of pet hair anywhere in the room. Could see Mt Hood from our room beyond the nearby highways on a clear day.

Parking options are nearby garages for ~$25/night, or valet parking for $52/night. I can't imagine the valet service being worth it as there was never than one person manning the position and he was quickly overwhelmed at popular check-in times. The indoor pool is small and very narrow, about the width of two swim lanes, with maybe a half dozen chairs around it. One person in our group used it once during our week stay and never went back. It's not a place to go to relax. Some of the local businesses are closed - likely still post-Covid fallout being felt in 2025.

Did not like having to check in and out via computer screen on a kiosk. I understand having staffing issues, very common these days, but it was not a comfortable feeling. No front desk personnel, no housekeeper seen. Other than the breakfast lady, I did not see any other employees or staff.

The sheets were stained. The towels were stained. It looked like whoever cleaned the room, made a small spill and used one of the towels to wipe it up then decided to put it back in the folded position. So I almost wiped my face with it. Which was gross. There was a very weird spill by one side of the wall next to my bed. Grits were watered down but the rest was delicious!

The hotel was charging expensive prices on absolutely everything and very little was provided as a kindness. Only two bath towels in the room, no minibar snacks, $26 for one bagel and lox, $30 to park, no vanity kit, large bottles of shampoo and soap, $6 for a paper cup of coffee. Where is all the money going from guests? Not to our experience, that’s for sure. We arrived hungry from the beach with two little kids and were told that there was no food to purchase on site, that the restaurants were closed. Later I read that we could have had food at the pool or our rooms, but the front desk told us that nothing was available. I’m not sure if they were right. Who is extracting all the money and niceties from this guest experience? Management at the top? I didn’t like it. We felt like we were customers of a chain not guests of a nice hotel.
