Loved the overall appearance of the Island House. The facility itself is old-school all the way. The location is perfect for taking advantage of Port Clinton's summer experience. You are located on Madison and Perry, so there is easy access to the nightly festivities on Madison, as well as pubs, diners, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Many of them within a hundred yards.

Staff. The staff was fine when you could find them, but for the most part they worked in the shadows. There was never anyone at the desk. Consumables, such as coffee and toilet paper, were provided on demand. The room itself was left to us, no fresh towels or cleaning as such. Sadly, the closed off J Liu restaurant was a sad reminder of the way things USED to be.

Great stay. Everything was excellent. Room was clean, bed comfy, and felt safe here traveling alone. All stores and restaurants close by all in walking distance.

I thought it was excellent but there were chairs seated in front of my room door and there was a guy that kept sitting right in front of my door. I didn’t really like that being that I was a solo female but still I felt safe.

The fact I had a herd of elephants above me and the FD staff did ZERO to accommodate me. I even checked out two days early and went to the Marriott 600 feet away. I will NEVER stay at a Hyatt. I was treated like a third class citizen.

Desk staff was unfriendly and not helpful. We were putting a room with a king when I had requested two beds. I was told that was because I had booked a “standard” room. I replied that I had booked a standard with two beds. She did move us. The air conditioner in the room sounded like a truck when it ran which kept us up most of the night. The coffee maker in the room didn’t work. The young woman who checked me in said to bring the parking ticket for $5 off, when I tried to do that she just waved me away because she was on the phone. When I checked out and asked the woman at the desk said I had to validate it myself. She was not wanting to help or answer any questions, never smiled. We definitely did not feel wanted on the property.
