We booked 2 nights in Blue Ridge on a budget. This was our first trip of many as a couple. For the price we paid in comparison to the rest of the area, we got more than the values worth. The owner checked us in and was very kind to us our whole stay. This was a very special trip for us and this made a great part of the experience. Frankly, being surrounded by dead and stuffed animals was creepy. A staff person said the owner had shot them. I’m not anti hunting,but I have enjoyed it myself, always with an understanding that you eat what you kill. So is black rhino pretty good eating?

Bed was comfy, TV had good channels, air con worked, facilities in the room were fine.

The door lock was broken. Ppl were talking outside the entire night, making me feel a little unsafe. The room had a cockroach, only small, but it was still there. The sheets had holes in them, as did the curtains.

Our first night was in Room 14. To be clear, we asked to add an additional night after I got out of the hospital, so they to,d us we would have to change rooms the next morning. Room 14 has a warning on the front door “Beware of steps”. It was pitch black, the sign should have said “beware of steep step down “, but it didn’t. The hallway between the duplex rooms was pitch black and I nearly wrecked my back on that step. The same goes with trying to get into the bathroom, as you have a 12” high step getting into to it. Light switches were in strange places.
