Amazing staff at the front desk - very professional and extremely helpful. The lady gave us an exceptionally good recommendation for dinner and enthusiastically answered all our questions. The lobby area is nice and has a beautiful setting on the outdoor patio. Both queen beds in the room were comfortable. The rate was reasonable for a Saturday night.

Our room on the west side got very warm, so the A/C worked overtime. The breakfast area was busy on Sunday morning and the staff seemed overwhelmed with replenishing food items and coffee.

Great place, great location with free parking. We were upgraded to a suite with a kitchen. Room came with oatmeal, juice and coffee. Even cookies in the lobby!

The property is in a central location. The neighbourhood isn't welcoming as there is garbage on the streets and sidewalks.

It felt like an invisible prison. The property charged both a cleaning fee and a deposit, which made us feel as though we were being held for ransom. There were so many rules that it seemed nearly impossible to get the deposit back unless every detail was followed. One of the rooms had a very strong cigarette odor, and when we arrived, the floors were dirty. Although the owners did clean the floors after we requested it via text, the overall impression was poor since we paid the cleaning fee. We still followed all the listed “Capital Hotel rules” and made sure to put away our garbage. However, after returning to Canada, management claimed we had caused property damage—which we did not—and charged us a $99 USD “repair fee.” The owners were not transparent about this, and I only discovered they had placed the charge after contacting Booking.com. Following several message exchanges, we eventually received our deposit back, minus an $8 service fee. Overall, the combination of the cleaning and deposit fees, lack of transparency, and constant back-and-forth with the owners made this a very negative experience. The excessive restrictions felt unreasonable for a unit that is not actually a hotel, yet calls itself “Capital Hotel” and charges hotel-level prices. As a result, I would not recommend this rental unit.

We were on the 3rd floor along with several youth basketball players and parents. Never heard them at night but there was a lot of running around and playing in the stairwell and elevator. I am not blaming the Hotel but the parents need to be more aware. Signs were posted to not use the stairwell but that did not stop the kids. Safety first!

No real water access for swimming or beach activity ; one bathroom; (for a large bedroom upstairs) was so small the man could barely shower in it - and the pedestal sink offered no ledge or sma surface for toiletries, no towel racks or hooks.

I felt the staff was not personable- Did not mention anything about the amenities when arrived. I was expecting - details of what they offer- breakfast end time- how to do the mini golf area-pool close time- had to find someone to mention no coffee at 9am in breakfast room - out of waffle batter-ran out of eggs. We will be choosing another place to stay next time we are in Ocean Shores
