This is a town for snow bunnies and mountain bikers. I am neither and found it a bit boring in winter. Queenstown itself has a lovely big mall with lots of shops, however nothing we don't have in Australia. Lots of tourists shops, mostly selling the same things.

We were so lucky on this occasion to be upgraded to the Penthouse Apartment - it was such a lovely surprise. It was so generous in size and had a full kitchen if you wanted to cook. The apartment was exceptionally clean and we had a great view of the Lake and surrounds. It was so central to restaurants and shops etc. and walking to these were manageable for me as I have a walking disability. We were also provided a carpark which was great as parking in Queenstown can be a problem. I would most definitely stay here again.

Good location, easy walk from town centre. Most buses for queenstown activities can pick up from stops just outside the hotel. Clean room with good shower, comfy bed and a beautiful view. Also super convenient that they have a heated ski gear room so no need to bring wet gear back to the room!

Car parking was free. I wish I hadn't let this guide my choice of accommodation as there are similar priced budget hotels closer to the centre of Queenstown but didn't go with them because of the parking. The room was clean when we arrived. Within walking distance of the centre of Queenstown .
