I like that Auckland is so diverse, and full of things to do and beautiful places to visit. I like how it has our family in it to visit. Also the parks I saw are well kept, and I especially like where there is a true public recycling system and awareness. That people are trying to be careful and follow the recycling rules. We stayed overnight which was ideal as we were on our way to a different destination, and we were able to have a quick visit to the city centre and look around the sky city area and the sky tower. Auckland is great to visit with many places to see. Would recommend a short stay at Auckland in addition to visiting other places either on the north island or south island such as Queenstown (which is what we did). Or if you do have a car it would be worthwhile and easier to travel to other places whilst staying in Auckland. This location is very central, we were staying here for a specific reason to be close to the Eye Institute but even if you weren't here for that it is a great location to the city and to south Auckland and the shopping areas.
