They were great! We used them as our base in Europe as they were so accommodating, keeping our luggage safe and remembering our names every time we came back to Lisbon from our adventure. The final day, I left really early so I had to skip their (amazing) breakfast and they were so kind to prepare a fantasy to “picnic” bag for me! 10/10

Amazing location, so central in Alfama and right near some beautiful viewpoints. Still a quick walk to the main city centre. Lovely room with everything I needed - appreciated the small gifts on arrival. Would absolutely stay again if I make it back to Lisbon.

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Built on seven hills facing the Tagus River, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It showcases unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: Belem's famous monuments; Alfama's labyrinth of streets, bars and small shops; and trendy Alcantara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in Baixa.

Enjoy a walk through Jardim Botanico, admire the architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery or explore the Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese cuisine. No meal is complete without the famous pasteis de nata!

Getting to the city center is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cozy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your vacation in Lisbon.

There is a lot to see, do and learn in Lisbon.

There is a lot to see, do and learn in Lisbon. It is very enjoyable and fun. However, be prepared that it is not very clean with some very sketchy people throughout. It is easy to suddenly find yourself in some undesirable locations. While Portugual is very lovely and has a very solid tourist industry, I was very cognizant that I had to constantly be vigilant of my surroundings in Lisbon.

I came for a quick visit and was shown around Lisbon for 7 hours. So I can't judge really, but having just come back from Barcelona I have to say that I much prefer the latter in terms of atmosphere and things to do.

    Lisbon is a great city.

Lisbon is a great city. Would highly recommend the ‘free walking tour’ (at the end give what you consider it is worth) very informative guide. Guide gave recommendations for restaurants, which were family run & not tourist prices. I would recommend to go on a boat trip, otherwise we would have missed landmark buildings & structures . Beautiful views from castle. Care & caution required on all footpaths as the cobblestones are undulating and often loose. Recommend going to Time Out market, prices can be high but great atmosphere.

I stayed in Lisbon for three days which worked out to be the perfect amount of time, allowing time to relax between activities. It is a lovely city full of character and lots of trendy cafes, bars and restaurants. While certain areas are quite hilly, it is still very walkable and I always felt very safe there as a female solo traveller.

I enjoyed the Jeronymous Monastery, though the queue was two hours in the scorching sun. I liked Lisboa in general, the Fado show. The nearby Sintra region eas gorgeous with its Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. So sorry the other palaces were closed because of the fear of wildfire (Regaleiro and the Muslim one)

Lisbon has a lot of beauty to it, but is seemingly overrun by tourism and unfortunately it seems that unless you’re able to find hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop shops and really connect with locals, it’s very gentrified in the most American sense possible. If visiting, I wouldn’t attend during peak tourism seasons (I would only go if there are non tourist seasons), as this may make it more likely to connect with locals. Unfortunately, locals seemed stressed by this tourism, at least in central districts of town. Beautiful, beautiful land and architecture though.

This hotel leans to the more "budget" friendly offerings in Lisbon, and for the price, you get excellent value here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was clean, and in a great location downtown and close to the airport. I had to leave earlier than the breakfast was offered, but the staff offered to pack a small breakfast for me in a bag to take with me in the morning. Marta is the best!!!
