I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

  Very clean. Comfortable. Classy without being bougie. Rooms were excellent with great amenities. Beds were very comfortable!! Staff heard we had been driving for 3 days straight without stopping to sleep and were very sore. Even though it was past the closing time for the hot tub, they still let us use it! Amazing customer service from every employee we encountered! If i ever return to minot i will absolutely be staying here!!

  Only downside was the paint buckets, and construction supplies in several locations, however it’s to be expected as they just upgraded the entire facility!

  Continued from previous review. We were not provided linen for the pull out sofa for the 5th person that we have booked for. It clearly states this is a place for 6 people and linen is included. The first day we called at arrival and the host promised to get it delivered by the house keeper for the second night. We called her, we texted her and messaged via the app. No response at all. Booking.com tried to reach her, no response. And we did not get linen for the second night. So one person had to sleep on a bare mattress with no cover. The house keeper finally came at 5.45 pm before the 3rd night and unlocked the cupboard with the sheet. Still no message from the host. Booking.com reached her and said she will not compensate for this and the house keeper came with the sheets (yes for the last night of 3). Based on this experience I will not recommend this place. You cannot trust the host. I am fine with a mistake happens, but then you try to fix it and you communicate with people and compensate for the bad experience. This did not happen with this host.

  I was put in a room where the key card didn't work, so everytime I left my room I was basically locked out until someone with a manager's key could let me in. It got a bit annoying after the second time waiting to be let in my room instead of being given a different room with a door that worked. The manager let me in my room the first time and then I had to wait for the night worker to contact the manager to get the key to let me in my room. I got extremely aggravated but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. They should've put me in another room, but I guess that was more trouble than having to go up and down the elevator several times to get a key to unlock a door that clearly was broken.
