The motel is located in a peaceful area with lots of trees. The buildings, while older, were clean and well-appointed, and there was a lovely little patio to the side of the kitchen area of the "family room" that was perfect for breakfast. The Penny's Diner (located conveniently nearby and recommended by the desk clerk) is a 1950s-style experience with delicious flame-grilled burgers and the crispiest onion rings I've ever eaten. An economical choice if you want to visit Mount Shasta, and are willing to drive a little further to do so.

When we attempted to close the deadbolt of the front door, it stuck fast and we couldn't get the door open again! Luckily we were able to go out through the patio door to seek assistance and, when the desk clerk couldn't open it either, the owners came and were able to resolve the problem. So, BIG thanks to them...but the "stickiness" of these deadbolts should probably be checked up on, especially on rooms without a second door!

The TV was pixelated and the video kept distorting and choppy and the sound was stuttering. I asked to be moved and the front desk staff was happy to help. Unfortunately, the second room had the same issue and when I called the front desk back this time she responded saying "well we already moved you once, i mean, if you dont like it you can always leave..." The following day I went to open the room window and noticed there was no screen so I called once again and they sent someone up who told me there was nothing they could do. I pointed out that all the other rooms had screens and most were vacant and he then went and grabbed one from a vacant room to replace the one mine was missing. At the end of my stay I tried to extend my reservation and they told me they wouldnt rent a room to me because of all the complaints. Their customer service is horrible, the women at the front are very rude and their attitude seemed directly related to the fact that im a white male. I was very polite and had no attitude and I gave them no reason to dislike me and was treated like I was disrespectful and rude to them.

The parking lot! A semi truck tried to pull into the lot and asked me to move my van from the handicap parking lot! Seriously told me to "Go ahead and just move so he can get in!" Then since there were other handicap drivers parked he still struggled. Maybe truckers need to know that the lot is not suitable
