I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

The view from the room was breathtaking — waking up to cloud-covered mountains and lush green forests was unforgettable. The pizza at the on-site restaurant was fantastic, and the pool was a great place to relax. We also really appreciated the convenient shuttle service to and from the beach. There are plenty of great dining options within a 10-minute radius. The suite itself was spacious and well-appointed, with one bedroom, a separate living room, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and two balconies. Highly recommend — totally worth the price!

  We loved how beautiful the property is, and also the rooms are very spacious. The hotel is located right in Vail Village, so there are shops and restaurants right outside the hotel. It is also walkable to Lionshead Village. The staff was extremely nice and helpful to us during our stay.

  We wish they would’ve warned us when booking that all the restaurants and bars at the hotel were closed while we were there. While we had other options in Vail Village and Lionshead Village, part of the reason we booked was how nice some of these places looked. Also, a lot of the bars and restaurants within Vail Village and Lionshead Village were closed at this time so we had more limited options.

  The location is excellent, easy walking to Union Station, Ogilvy Transportation Centre, and the Clinton El station. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by, while it is easy to walk into downtown Chicago. Friendly staff, and early check-in was allowed at no extra cost.

  Bad experience not getting what I requested and paid for. Ocean view, they said, I needed to ask for Beach view instead if I wanted a room to be able to be infront by the beach. They sent me to a small room in the very back by the beach. Nothing to be seeing by infront my room. I don't see what's the difference and when i did the booking didn't explain correctly what a person is paying for. In the main building they say I didn't book a condo, nor to be in the highest level to be able to have a beautiful beach view. That's what I asked for. They gave me a very small room. Nothing what I booked. I asked for a suite, not a hotel room. This room didn't even have a microwave. I'm very disappointed. I won't book to come back to this place again. Very disappointed.
