The location was great. We were close to several restaurants and marinas where we had booked excursions. There were also a few bars close by including the one at the condo, from which we got excellent service. Our host was prompt in answering questions and was very nice to work with. The condo was clean and kitchen was well stocked. Everyone had comfortable sleeping and it was nice to have a washer/dryer in the condo. We had a beautiful view of the beach and the beach and water was gorgeous. Crystal clear and saw dolphins every morning as well as some sting rays a couple of times.

The only issue we had was the main elevator that was by our room went out several times during our stay so we had to walk a long way to another elevator or take the stairs (we had one friend that has health issues and really struggled with both stairs and long walk to other elevator.

I requested for bedding to be changed. It was not changed the entire time we were there. I was left a bag for me to change my own bedding.

WE finally did get in to our room and spent the night before our early morning field trip the following morning.

When we arrived at the hotel, the lobby was empty. We hit the "Find" button as instructed to call someone to register us and get us our room key but no one responded. We tried this 3 different times, allowing a couple of minutes each time for someone to arrive. We called the hotel and got no answer, I believe we were asked to leave a message. After 20 minutes of waiting, and 2 other guests arriving and waiting with us, we called Best Western Customer Support. Customer Support tried to help us but they did not have an alternative number for the general manager, just the main hotel number. By this time, I was starting to worry that something might have happened to the employee. We all searched the hotel (inside and out) but could find no employee. We couldn't believe that there was NO ONE around and yet the lobby contained an unlocked refrigerator unit full of beer and other alcoholic drinks for sale and a stand of snacks for sale. Anyone could have robbed the place not just of the sale goods but of the business center computer, etc. Just as I got off the phone with Best Western Customer Support a second time and started to phone the Rice Lake Police, an employee showed up and apologized and said the phone wasn't working (that doesn't explain the "Find" machine and the extended time that the employee was away from her post). It was a Saturday night after 7 pm and we knew that we'd be hard-pressed to find alternative housing at that point, so we did check in. The employee did nothing to compensate us for the half hour we spent trying to reach her, reaching out to the main Best Western Customer Support, etc., and did not contact the General Manager to see what she could do for us. I will never go back again! What a way to treat a Best Western Rewards member!

if i had to say anything in my room there was a bit of a smell wasn't to undoable but it something they can work on especially with everything so great. the other thing was when i ask to get my sheet change, they told me that i was unable to stay in the room while it could be done or i can take my thing out of the room so they can change my sheets so for me that was inconvenience to me so I just change my sheets myself those was the only issue

Loved that the pool had a bar. Since our room wasn't available when we got there (2pm) we decided to go to the pool, grab a drink and then walk to the beach. That made it worth not being able to get in the room much more enjoyable. Overall everyone was very nice.

The dishwasher was very smelly at first. They had a technician come out and take a look at it while we were at the beach. It was still slightly smelly for the rest of the trip but it wasn't bad. The water just smelled like sewage inside the dish washer but the rest of the water in the unit from the shower and sinks was totally fine. We hand-washed the dishes since we weren't there much.
