- “My wife and I came to Villa Kaliente on our honeymoon, and we are in agreement that the property was probably the nicest place we've ever stayed. That said, we had a complicated stay in Nusa Penida, due to the fact that my wife sprained her ankle pretty severely the second we arrived to the island (stepping off the ferry dock onto dry land). When we got to the villa, we were completely dependent on the staff, because my wife couldn't get around. The staff (and especially the manager Putu) went above and beyond, helping us acquire crutches and an elastic bandage, as well as picking up every single meal for three days! We're very thankful for their help, which saved this leg of the trip. Unfortunately, we were basically confined to the villa for three days; fortunately, it was an incredibly comfortable place to be stuck! We stayed in the king suite on the upper floor, which has an amazing balcony, and the most shockingly high-quality interiors of any place we've been. Everything was beautiful and comfortable: the furniture, the shower, the bathtub, the bed, the built-in cabinetry. We wish we could live in this room!! My wife was on the couch icing her ankle most of the time, and it was the coziest couch imaginable. The fantastic view of Mount Agung from the pool / our balcony is something I will remember forever.”

  I chose this place because it was close to the ballpark as I went to my #28th stadium when they play the Tigers. They offered a shuttle to get you to and back from the park. They had a very good breakfast of fresh made waffles, cereal, hot eggs, bacon and french toast, bread, muffins and bev. The lady at the front desk was VERY good and helpful.

  Where they said they would pick you up after the game at the 2 places, there was NO shuttle. It still was a 10 min walk back. When I got to the hotel, the shuttle was sitting there. I was told that the police blocks off different areas and they dont know which ones they are going to block off. That area was blocked off by the police that night. They charge for early arrivals.

  Upon arrival we were concerned by the outside appearance. It is dated and in need of a facelift! However, the interior and room were just right for our one night stay! The scrapebook of renovations was a treat! Good work!

  We followed the email explaining the room entry code. Good! We followed the email regarding Wi-Fi. Wrong! That needs to be updated to the user/password info found in the room welcome-basket. No complaints! Our mistake. . .We tried to google directions for the Grill before arriving! We did not realize both restaurants are located on the premise. The names should have been our clue! That was not clear on the email info.

  Details Boasting a private entrance, this spacious apartment also includes 1 living room, 2 separate bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a shower. The apartment's kitchen is available for cooking and storing food. This apartment is air-conditioned and has a flat-screen TV, a washing machine and an electric kettle. The unit has 3 beds. This is what we booked but not what we got. There was only ONE bathroom.
