  The bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect, close to Navy Pier, which was our main destination daily. The hotel itself is beautiful. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. It has an old world charm.

  The staff is not very friendly. When checking in, the attendant at the desk did not greet us, she just said "what's the last name?" We were helped by a bellhop and a man who was standing outside who I guess used to do valet, which was nice, but were rather rude. We have never traveled to an "upper class" hotel before and were unaware of the tipping culture. When the bellhop left he said, "not a tip or anything?" I apologized that we didn't have cash as we didn't expect to be helped to the room. Any where we've stayed, we've always brought our luggage up ourselves. Also, the air conditioner is very old and barely works. It eventually cooled down, but it took a good portion of the night. I also do not think the hotel halls are air conditioned as they were very, very warm.

  Dirty room with beer and leftover food in mini fridge. Food stains on blow dryer cord and glass ring marks on nightstand. Looks like bed and towels were changed and that was all!
