I booked this hotel with high expectations because of the great reviews. When we arrived, we were told that the elevators did not work and we had to walk 6 flights of stairs. They ended up fixing the elevators, but they sounded like they would break down at any second and we had to call the front desk to send the elevator to our floor (the button didn’t work). When we arrived to the room we noticed the air was not working properly and the temperature continued to get hotter by the minute. The top of the iron was broken and the refrigerator was not cooling. Staff tried their best to assist, but it was a maintenance issue and maintenance was not working at that time. The room became uncomfortably hot. We ended up having to find another hotel because their were no other room available. Again, the front desk staff and valet were AMAZING, but the hotel needs some work.

South Padre Island, Texas

This was the jackpot. Great view from the awesome balcony. Blackout curtains so we could take a nice little siesta in the afternoon. The pool/hot tub were a great spot to hang out in the evening. Perfect location right by the bridge made it easy to access the whole island, but still stay away from the busy/loud tourist spots. The location also made getting off the island simple with little to no effort.

It took some getting used to the open hallways, with birds flying in the hallways as you walk out of the condo, but that only happened a couple times. The only thing we really didn't like was having to leave. We really enjoyed staying here!

The pool/bar area was great, and the food was good. The room location and view was perfect. All staff that we interacted with during our stay, was courteous and helpful. Other than the issues listed, the room overall was clean and comfortable.

When we arrived, the front door lock was glitchy from the start. The maintenance man had to show us a trick to make it work bc he stated replacing the locks were so expensive. This was after we spent about 15 minutes on the phone with a representative trying to get into our door and ended up having to use the master code given to us. We could not utilize our outdoor porch furniture, all of the chairs were broken in the seat area. This was disappointing, being that we had such a beautiful view, but couldn’t sit out on the deck to enjoy. There was a fair amount of trash and someone else’s clothing under our children’s bunk beds, which was found when we pulled the bed out to get to the outlet. The master sink stopper broke on our first day there, so for four days we could not utilize the master sink. We called in a work order on our second day and being that it was after hours we had to leave a voicemail and never received a call back or maintenance. When I called today to let you all know we were checking out, I informed the representative that I had put in a voicemail days ago regarding the sink issue and never received a return call. She put me on hold, returned and stated she checked the voicemail and there was nothing there, when in fact, I left a very explicit message just days before. Lastly, we were unable to experience the indoor pool due to the extremely strong odor of pool chemicals. You can smell them outside in the hall close to the area, once we went in the door our eyes were burning immediately. We let the kids get in for about five minutes, which is all any of us could stand.
