  Location was great and peaceful. The property had wonderful amenities that our group enjoyed a lot. The only negative was that one of our showers had a leak but there was a tub there and the maintenance crew answered our questions promptly

  The rooms are always so clean, the location is quiet & the staff is always helpful and friendly. We stay here each time we fly out of Des Moines & absolutely love this hotel! We stay 4 or 5 times a year while in Des Moines.

  Jay and the women who worked at the desk were very helpful and nice. Jay made some good suggestions for where to eat and he was right I can hardly explain how these people made my stay wonderful

  Now for the very bad part which has stuck with me. One day when Jay was behind the desk the other person was an older man with grey hair and beard. I came in all excited to share the great experience I had and what a wonderful meal I had at one of the restaurants Jay suggested. I spoke to Jay who was not able to respond to me because the older man decided to take over the talking. He said what time did I have dinner, how busy was it, then he said that the restaurant was not that good and it depended on who was cooking and what time. He went on to negate what the plsce was snd sll the ways it could be bad. Again I came in to share my joy in Jay’s suggestion snd how good it was. The constant negative banter from the other guy was disgusting. He negated me and my experience. Next some other people came in the office and he called out to all of us that Niki Haley said she would vote for Trump. I have worked in the service industry most of my life. In the service industry you never talk about politics or religion. He was completely inappropriate. He does not know tour customers political view and can be very damaging to your business. Please take care of this as it reflects badly on the wonderful place that you have. It soured my experience

  Hotel location was excellent as well as the room we got. It was a corner room with a view of the river and the lake.

  Overall nice hotel but you can tell it aged already and needs remodeling. Main reception area is pretty dark and that mood follows you through the entire hotel.

  The day shift Staff at the front desk was ice cold for some reason as it’s like she just had a very nasty divorce. The door lock of our room was malfunctioning due to a drained battery in the lock. Because of that my wife didn’t go to the breakfast and asked me to grab something for her - someone needs to be IN the room to be able to open the door for me! And the nasty look I got from the kitchen staff as if I was stealing the crappy food they serve. Didn’t get the towels replaced on day 2. Apparently housekeeping is only on call.
