Always love a Drury, but this one had an excellent vibe with very friendly and attentive staff. The free food and drinks is always a bonus, and the nightly rate was very reasonable for the level of room we had. Great location too, close to everything fun in Pittsburgh.

The facility was well designed, very clean, comfortable, and right across the street from the convention center. There were multiple places to eat within easy walking distance. The staff, especially the manager, were extremely helpful and friendly.

I tried to save some money and originally booked the tiny, tiny room. It’s a separate building - an old house and it is definitely not worth the dollars I tried to save. The building was purchased to gain possession of the entire block. I was told it will be torn down eventually. The manager was very helpful in getting me and my wife into a hotel room the very next morning when a room opened up. Huuuuge difference! Don’t book the tiny, tiny room.

The front desk staff person working the desk at 4:30am today (Thursday, 5/23) was rude, unprofessional and frankly had no empathy. I had food poisoning yesterday and requested a two hour late checkout so I can come from my client site, take my refrigerated food and go (as I couldn’t risk eating outside food). Not only did he refuse the request outright, he started threatening to rescind a cancellation that was approved earlier (resulting in a two day extra charge). All this at 4:30am when I was running out to a 5am client meeting! I kept telling him I wasn’t well and hence the request and he just didn’t seem to care. I took a chance and left to my client site. Like they say, all is well that ends well. When I returned, the other person manning the front desk at 12:15p was super nice. There was a note on my door for a 1p late checkout. I assume this was a result of some mature management intervention. Overall, I loved my stay. It was just this one unpleasant experience that left a bad taste.

I’m not sure if they got new beds or changed the frames but it was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept on. We went and bought an air mattress to sleep on after the 3rd night. There was also a very strung musty smell in the room? Not sure where that could be from.
