The staff, the staff, the staff!! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Was helping my young adult daughter make a last minute difficult move from Texas to CA with a dog and a small uhaul. She had to book, arrive and check in before I flew in that night to meet her. The staff were kind, understanding and helpful.

I like to stay at Monument Inn when I visit my son and his family as it's close to their house. The rooms are always clean and spacious.

I've stayed at Monument Inn at least 6 times, have completely enjoyed it and never had a complaint, until this last time. The price was more than usual, but it was High School graduation weekend, so that's understandable. I arrived about 2:00 (current time) and was informed by the GSR that I couldn't check in until 3 pm as his system wouldn't allow it. OK, weird. I worked at a hotel a long time ago and have never heard of that, but okay. I didn't see that on the website, otherwise I'd have scheduled my arrival better. I had a handicap accessible room (I'm not handicapped, but that's fine) on the first floor (rm 137 or 138, can't remember which now). The bed was ridiculously firm, like sleeping on a concrete slab. I woke up many time and contemplated just leaving in the middle of the night. The vibrating recliner was nice, but to shut it off I had to unplug it. There was a remote for the bed but it didn't work. The tv was another issue, I couldn't get it to change channels or bring up the menu, nothing. That was okay, I had other electronic devices to entertain myself. I also had an adjoining room, I don't know if it's the nature of the beast, but the 2 men in the room next to me sounded like they were in the same room when they were talking, and they weren't talking loud. Thankfully they went to bed early. I did not address any of these concerns to the desk.

The TV set is old and hard to manipulate. There are no places in the bathroom to hang up your towels and clothes. I was on the first floor and there was a lot of noise coming from the rooms upstairs such as children running until late at night and early in the morning.
