All the staff at the Front Desk were very pleasant, efficient and helpful. It was so nice that we were able to check-in a couple hours early - unexpectedly. It was great that we were able to have our luggage held the day of check-out until our evening train departure time. The warm daily oatmeal choco chip cookies were killer good --- and I hardly ever eat cookies. Our visit to NYC was to attend a concert at Madison Square Garden, and mode of transportation was by train -- the hotel location was excellent proximity for both! Oh, and, nice having a 'night stand' on each side of the bed -- with 2 drawers even!

Bar soap is preferred for showering/bathing instead of body wash. The body lotion bottle attached to the bathroom wall is not efficient.

breakfast was fine, simple, great for my kids. waffle maker, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, 2 types of cereal. pool appeared clean, although we didn't use it. I thought the bed was comfortable. The cleaning lady was super helpful in getting us 2 more towels as there were 4 of us, and the room only had 2 towels as a default.

The lady at check in was having a conversation with what i assumed was a friend while i walked in to check in, basically finished her conversation and then attended to me. Her conversation with her friend mentioned that they only have 8 rooms open for purchase that it was oddly busy for a Wednesday. I tried to let it go, it was only a few minutes although it felt like forever because we were checking in after a 5 hour drive. After getting to the room and getting ready to head out to eat, (maybe 20 minutes after we checked in) I realized our door didn't lock. I went down to the front desk and she said i cant do anything about that, i can still use it or i can refund you. I said I wanted to move to a different room as you stated you had 8 rooms left, and she snarky said well i don't have any that are doubles, so i cant do that. I then asked if someone could come look at the door. She then stated the same thing again. I said i would be back and stepped out to try to call other hotels in the area. Unfortunately we were stuck there. We were going to get a smoking room and try to make it work. I go back in to start that, and the lady says her manager went up to the room and they said it locks. I said i would be right back, maybe i did something wrong. and it was still unlocked. I go down and state this and that could that person meet me up there so i could show them, and she flat out said no. I go back up to my room intending to move our stuff to our second room and while i am triple checking the door the person who checked it earlier walked up and just pushed on the door saying its closed. then i state, to open the door without the room key and clearly he didn't try this based on the look on his face. He says he can fix it. One of us stays with the room AND IT WAS A DEAD BATTERY after all of that. will not recommend. bathroom looked dirty, toilet seat not attached properly did not shower as we were here just 2 nights and was going to beach.

The young lady at the front desk was kind and checked in if we needed anything during our stay. She gave the kids cookies. She was awesome. When we needed towels, housekeeping was prompt and came up to our room within 5 minutes.

White stains on the sofa. White stains on walls, furniture. Looks like the room was repaired but was not cleaned good after. The chair was making a creaking sound.
