The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The location was two blocks from the Metro which was convenient. The neighborhood seems safe. There is a gated parking space for one vehicle behind the house. The owner was very nice and very communicative, however (read below).

This is one of the worst vacation rentals we have ever stayed in and we travel constantly and have stayed in hundreds of vacation rentals. The reality is ... this place is not set up as a vacation rental at all. And the owner did not prepare it properly to rent out. The kitchen is not well stocked … only one wine glass, only three coffee cups, the coffee carafe is broken so we couldn’t make coffee (we improvised by using a filter and adding hot water to drip into a cup), barbecue is rusted out and filthy and tank empty (with no spare). The handle on one of the pots is barely attached so you can’t use it for cooking. Only one kitchen towel. The Internet is unreliable, out much of the time and when it does work it is very slow. You cannot depend on it to stream or even do work. I see that Fiber is available here, but it looks like the connection is through Verizon. Unacceptable in 2025. In the second bedroom, the cheap table lamp is broken and bulbs burned out (I removed a bulb from the overhead kitchen light then moved around the cord on the bedroom lamp to make a connection for power … it is not safe). There is no mattress pad on the bed so you feel the buttons on the mattress while you’re trying to sleep. There is a plastic cover under the sheet which just makes you sweat all night (I removed it after the first night). In the bathroom, the shower has excessive black mold. The owner did send over someone to caulk over it two days after we arrived (why wasn’t this done before our arrival), but the mold is still on the tiles. The handyman failed to repair the towel rack that was barely hanging on the wall, or the broken security lock on the back door. It’s almost like the owners just up and left when it was time for us to arrive, leaving kids toys and high chair in the dining area, and not paying any attention to having the basics expected in a vacation rental. The owner was very apologetic.

Excellent location to downtown Blowing Rock. The house staff was excellent, so friendly and very responsive when we had any issues or questions. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Location and water access was great. Staff was really nice. Easy to fuel up my boat in the marina.

We stayed in one of the house boats. The smell in the bathroom after the first day was unbearable. Luckily we had a few friends staying in a couple of the land cottages so we could shower and use the bathroom.

The WiFi was very slow and unreliable; there’s also bad mobile signal, so my hotspot didn’t work either.

Our room with the king bed didn’t have a charging station by the bedside. There was a plug point on the other side of the bed but no table to place my phone charger, etc.

To start off with the drive way up to the cabin is awful, and not very safe. The gravel rocks were in such a bad sand bed that our vehicle was sliding and got stuck serval times. My husband had to back down the mountain at 9 at night because no staff would answer the phone, but openly admitted to watching us struggle on the security cameras. Also we had to walk up & down the mountain serval times with our luggage. The cabin is very outdated, and not clean. The smell was so old and spider webs for days. There are motion sensors in the cabin so a red light flashes all night long, to where you get no sleep. The water pressure is awful. There were also bugs in the hot tub. The staff, don’t even get me started. There is a lady named Jenny that’s works there, I would not talk to her. She is very rude, and not helpful when you are in an emergency she will just talk about how cute your vehicle is. She will act like she can’t hear the phone when you try and call serval times because you absolutely cannot access your cabin. We asked for a refund and they would not give us one. I highly do not recommend booking here for anything. Me and my husband had to book a hotel for our HONEYMOON because this place was 0 help to us and was so RUDE. I can’t even express how rude and terrible our service has been.
