After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The golf cart staff taking you into town and picking you up were great--chill, friendly guys and the transportation is practically essential for the hotel. While walkable, it would too much of a hassle for daily coming and going if not for the golfcart rides. We did not have a full meal at the Bettini but did stop in to snack a bit--clam chowder and olive oil cake were both delicious. The food we ordered by the pool (poke bowl, flatbread) was also pretty good. Good amount of seating to just relax on the wrap-around porch. Super short walk to the lighthouse. Comfy SOFT robes. Umbrellas for guest use in case of rain. Easily accessible charging outlets and near the bed (not always a given for "historic" properties so its appreciated in this phone and tablet era). Our room was ready early so we were able to get in and rest about an hour before standard check in time. The staff we interacted with were all wonderful.

Expensive, and its debatable whether the experience was worth the price. Did I have any major issue with the room or the food? No. But at this price point I would expect a bit more polished experience. Bathroom door wouldn't shut (maybe due to how wood expands when weather is hot, but this still results in a nonfunctional door). One of the USB charging ports doesn't charge--did not notice immediately and ended up with a near dead phone next morning. Food ordered by the pool can take awhile (hit or miss). Another couple's order took about 30 min which I thought was reasonable but when we ordered shortly after them, it took about an hour. Shower water pressure was pretty weak (strong water pressure makes quite a difference getting shampoo/soap out of hair quickly). Surely, at this price point, the Nespresso pods could be refilled when the room is made up? More information could be provided to the guests in the rooms. Like in-room ordering/pricelist. Different dining options and hours. Common information like bus routes to/from other towns. Sure, I was able to go to the hotel website and dig this info up myself. Bus routes are posted at the bus station I can go and check, or search online. But making some basic info readily available is pretty standard. Also, from a personal preference standpoint, the bed was a bit too soft for me--calling it out as something I didn't like but someone else might love the bed. These are all small things. It certainly didn't "ruin" anything and we enjoyed our time there. But value for money is an aspect of the experience and at the price point of the Harbor View, my expectation would have been to not have to encounter these "little issues".

The room was large and very clean. They thought of everything! Breakfast was very good although we were there when everyone else was so it seemed there could be more tables added.

I would have preferred better coverage on the window. The provided curtain let in a lot of light from the parking lot. Maybe a shade would work better? Otherwise, we loved our room!

This hotel is close to my family and is a good value for metro DC. It is clean and has a wonderful staff.

There is no microwave in the rooms, and I found the coffee that they have lukewarm, not hot.

Everything worked as expected from a Best Western. There was parking space included in the price.

Breakfast was simple, like most Best Westerns: not many options. No fresh juice, no espresso. Overpriced stay (like most stays in cities in SoCal).

The guest in the room next to ours blasted his television at a loud volume the entire night. We ended up leaving at 4:30 am since we were not able to sleep.

I had to change rooms because the toilet was not functioning, and the television was also inoperable. After the room switch, I discovered that the television in the new room was likewise not working, and the blow dryer was also defective. At this point, I felt it was reasonable to request some form of accommodation, given that I am paying $300 for a room and experiencing multiple issues with the amenities.
