I selected this motel based on it offering the lowest priced room rate in the Westport area for that night combined with the fact it had better reviews and was ranked 3 stars compared to other similar lower priced hotels in the area. While the location is a bit far from the Marina, it was conveniently located next to a good Mexican restaurant and the grocery store.

The office was dirty and disorganized, which immediately gave me a negative impression of what I could expect to find in the room. The manager was pleasant enough and apologized for the state of the office. The room itself was reasonably clean, but very dated. The bed linens and pillows were a strange assortment that looked like they were purchased at a garage sale or from a thrift shop. No air conditioner and it was warm that day so I left the windows open. No shampoo or body soap, the dispenser in the shower was empty and, for whatever reason this is the one time I didn’t bring my own. The manager was kind enough to lend me hers. Tiny tv screen. Other furniture in the room was cheap and/or damaged. Mattresses and pillows were not particularly comfortable. Nonetheless, I was tired and went to bed around 8pm. At that time there were about a half dozen or more hotel guests having a party outside their rooms. Lots of loud talking and laughter. It went on until about 3am. I was forced to shut the windows which helped a little. It was quiet for about an hour and then the same people started up again.

The breakfast here was better than expected. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and a plethora of other things as well as a variety of beverage options. The location was decent unless you would rather have a more quiet area. There are several nearby hotels and an arcade right next door.

I really don't have any complaints, other than not having a vending machine at the end of the hall. But there are a couple of gas stations close by. You should definitely check out the French Market Express.

Our room was small (tiny, actually, but we were told about it) but nice and lovely decorated. Breakfast was good but limited; formal victorian setting.

Parking is a little far from the property. It rained a lot when we stayed and the streets were flooded (a town issue), but because the parking was far, it became even further as we had to detour from the flooded area to get to the hotel.

Its August in Sault Ste Marie, they really need to put in Air conditioners in the walls. I know its a budget hotel but that would help a lot---do a couple rooms in a season. They need to make sure all the lights are on when it gets dark it is DARK. I was on the side of the busy street and the noise is horrible, I am from the city there is no way I am opening a window,
