FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-loving & Forward-thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centers cover everything from name brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you've left enough space in your bags!

This time I only stayed one night after a cousin's wedding but as a child I was a regular visitor to Glasgow when we went to see my family there. Glasgow has some great galleries, museums and parks, and it's a good base for trips to the countryside (e.g. Loch Lomond) and to Edinburgh. It doesn't take long to get there from Glasgow by coach, train or car and on a like-for-like basis Glasgow hotels are probably cheaper than Edinbrugh hotels.

The City Sightseeing Bus was a great way to learn more about Glasgow and discover where the important attractions are located. Made walking around the city afterwards a breeze. Good value too, as both red and yellow routes were included in one ticket (with overlaps between the two routes).

There are a lot of things to do in Glasgow and this includes free entry to a lot of sites! Most of the people are helpful and friendly. Glasgow is a place with a lot of history, art, literature, sports, music. The food is good and there are some excellent places, serving traditional Scottish cuisine, or otherwise. I am from London and Glasgow is better value for money, for most things. This includes food and travel around the city. If your a football fan, you will enjoy a visit/tour of one of the old firms stadiums (celtic of course!).

Sorry I was attending a convention and didn't get the opportunity to see much of Glasgow. Would like to come back again and see a lot more. We ate at the Taphouse iBar and Kitchen, 1046 Argyle street. Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8LY. The Club sandwich was very reasonable and very filling if you add chips. We couldn't finish it all. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. We had a lovely Spaghetti bolognaise at Ask Italian just a short distance from the bus station at end of Road. It does have a number of steps up to the entrance. We look forward to our next visit.

The host was lovely. The apartment was very centrally located and within a walking distance to Glasgow city centre. I stayed with my family and the kids loved the balcony in the living room which is also secure. Well equipped kitchen and a well decorated property throughout. We travel to Glasgow a lot to see family, and we will definitely be booking this apartment again. The bonus for us is the free parking and the smart TV. Kids loved watching Disney and netflix which is not common in even thnicest hotels these days.

Recently refurbished. Exceptionally clean, extremely comfortable beds, lovely fresh, crisp bed linen. Perfect location 600 metres from wedding venue Engine Room tho we did take Uber as we were running late! Great value for 6 people. 15 mins from airport. Lovely big enclosed garden, We were a family of five so would have needed 3 hotel rooms for one night, Wyndford was way better and less expensive than hotel. Ni city noise as situated in suburban cul-de-suc. Great for airport and Glasgow city centre 15 mins away.
