Strand Palace Hotel, hotel in London

Welcoming guests since 1909, the Strand Palace Hotel is located in London’s West End within just 2297 feet of the Adelphi and the Vaudeville theaters.

I enjoyed every moment of my stay at the Palace. The location was convenient to everything walking or public transportation. The size was comfortable not overwhelming. The food was very good. The Gin Palace was the perfect spot for the gin and tonic. The staff made me feel extra special and wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. My room was a small bedroom with a most comfortable bed. The bathroom was lovely with nice products for my hair and shower.

The Apartment is horrible, not worth für Price, utmost dirty dirty...No cupboard/ no hanger. Host has neither heart nor empathie. We were waiting for 1hour with children at 1.00am to get a code number to open the room, we were repeatedly asking to send the code per sms. Bad Internet connection per Telefon also. Still sie forced us to fill a long online form in the midnight, Aktually, sie had to send this Form before Departure. It has ruined the whole mood. But I am happy now, that I am too far from this apartment, and not possible to get Scabies. Otherwise London is as always class. I suggest everybody to avoid the visit there and Booking.com to take it out from their catalogue. Otherwise Booking, com will loose their name and regret for it!!!!

I have already shared opinions on London, so let me be brief this time. 1. Go experience it! It is a very clean, cosmopolitan city that is in many ways the birthplace and historical home of Western Civilization. 2. Walking is great, Underground is great, tourist busses are great, do not rent a car and drive. Traffic is a mess. 3. Find hotels near your points of interest. If you want theater, stay at Piccadilly. If you want history, stay as close to downtown as you can afford. If you want Football, pitches are everywhere. 4. It is expensive, but plan ahead of time to limit expenses. Once there focus on the experience, not the cost. 5. Get out into the countryside for a day if you can. 6. Have lots of smiles, and enjoy the day, pace of life is slower than places in US. 7. Go to pubs, eat fish and chips, and eat a real 'English Breakfast'. 8. Hit the museums. 9. Bring rain gear.

If you are an American, you need to go and spend at least a week there. there is everything you want to see and do in the city, or within a couple hour's drive of the city. It will take some adjustments to enjoy it: Do not drive, use the Underground or other mode of transport. Traffic is as bad or worse than NYC, Boston, or LA. Take your time, you will likely have long walks to places, and the pace for visitors, especially eating, is much different than in the US. There are major US chains in London, but eat local food in small shops and eateries. Finally, know ahead of time it is more expensive to stay and eat in London than the US. Accept it for what it is and immerse yourself in the city and its people.

London is a fast moving, bustling city with theatres round every corner and an abundance of places to eat to suit most budgets. We like to stay central and we have parks nearby. We love the place and always aim to be here close to my birthday. We were lucky to have a beautifully written birthday card, fresh fruit and a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket plus a room upgrade.

Last minute booking as had missed my last train home, normally I stay away from Kings Cross as an area as so many hotels are of very poor quality, however couldn't be bothered heading back into central London so took a chance on this. The price was so cheap it almost put me off! But what a pleasant surprise, my room was a good size, it was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the wifi was perfect. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this place and would happily stay again. For the price you will not find anything better in London.

Apartments are very nice (newly renovated, I assume), well taken care of and quite spacious by London's standards. The kitchenette has all basic things to prepare simple meals (even salt and pepper were available) and the hotel provides you with a laundry room to use free of cost. Very nice area around the hotel with typical Victorian architecture and lots of small parks (although private ones). 5 min walk to Earl's Court underground, many eateries around it and 5 min to a very big supermarket: Sainsbury's. Totally recommended!

The hotel has obviously recently been refurbished, was very clean. Fridge in the room with milk and juice and choice of cereals for breakfast which you prepared yourself. When checked in, the person showed me up to my room on the 2nd floor and carried up my bag. Imagine that with Premier Inn or Travelodge. There were 4 parking spaces in front of the hotel so pot luck for a space and parking about 300 mts away for only £7.20 per day in, Westerfield Rd, London N15 5LD. Bar down stairs with Mexican food available

Good home feel. Privacy & secure. The beds were comfy. Got the true feel of living in an English home.... something that is not possible had we stayed in the big-chain hotels. Bathrooms were great. Towel Heater was a heart-warming (& body warming) highlight feature of the master bath. Main doors had double locks making us feel secure. Top floor was classic English Guest Room with a sky-light. Good property that I would definitely stay when we come back to London.

The hotel was in a good location, about a 10 minute walk to the tube, access to taxis and an easy walk to London CBD. The whole apartment building was beautifully maintained and elegant but our individual apartment needed a few repairs and was not of the same standard. Issues were dealt with by the office as quickly as possible. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable but if you are using the lounge room as a bedroom there is limited room.

    1. The place was perfect for our family. We like to stay in places where there is a lounging/living room area and a kitchen; hence the preference for apartments over hotels.
