Our go to place on the way to the Badlands and Black Hills. The service and people working there are always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice, spacious, clean and neat. I love the character of the lobby and of course the included breakfast with the room. There’s also a pool and a spa. Love it!

We were lucky to have an upgrade to a King suite which was a great size. Good lighting in the bathroom and you also have a kitchen area and ironing board, hairdryer etc. Breakfast was decent too. Great shower and comfortable beds.

The complementary upgrade caused a system issue which put it at the higher price. Tammie on reception was not impressed by me asking why I'd paid so much more than I expected and was pushing through the transaction, which also had incidentals on top of $100 per night. Our friends were charged for 3 nights incidentals when we only stayed 2 nights. Again Tammie didn't like us questioning the amounts. It wasn't until her colleague (aramis I think) overheard us questioning why our costs were so different and not what we expected, that he stepped in and looked into it further and resolved it quickly. Check what you are paying for and hope you don't get Tammie. It would have been nice to have had some fresh melon or tomatoes/mushrooms with breakfast so there is a hot vegetarian option. Too much plastic use at breakfast too. Lighting in the bedroom area was limited to bedside lights only.

My last stay at the Clarion was pretty bad. On this trip, I really did,nt want to stay there again. But it was the only room I could find on short notice. But I was impressed with the re-modeling on my room. It was clean, comfortable and quite. Well done.
