I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

  Nothing redeemable. I would say spend the extra $30 to go to the place right next-door. I was being cheap. And that cheapness definitely cost me a comfortable night sleep. The place is healthy. Curtains falling off the walls, cobwebs, the sink literally would spit water up with you instead of into the sink. It was disgusting.

  The family who runs the place seems to be nice. They are nice and Indian and family. The woman was very accommodating to my needs of first floor and having my service dog.

  The location was amazing. Walking distance to everything with so much to offer within a few minutes. The parking spot was fabulous, everything was clean, and we had plenty of towels. It was also extremely easy to come and go. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating.

  I did not realize it was an Air BnB I was reserving since it was at a hotel. There are several amenities that weren’t available to us since we weren’t technically hotel guests like the pool. It is not beachside so we had to walk to go to the actual beach. We also asked for our luggage to be held to move our car to the correct assigned spot and the hotel would only hold our luggage for a fee. We didn’t lose any keys but it’s $50 per key to replace and $35 open fee if you lock yourself out of the room. Anytime I called the property owner she answered immediately and made exceptions to help us out and I am so grateful. None of the things above posed a problem for us but I thought it should be included in this review so others would know.

  It was clean and adorable. The beds were very comfortable, and the sliding barn doors were a great addition, allowing versatility with the use of the space. It had everything we needed for a nice home base while we explored the area. Thank you.

  I had two older ladies with me and a handrail for the shower as well as on the steps up from the street=level sidewalk would have been a great help.

  Key to use the elevator and security at the elevators. House keeping is great! Easy to get keys from the kiosk. Didn’t hear the people on either side of me, it was a quiet floor. Safe in room was easy to use. Great mattress, linens new and pillows were super comfortable .

  The fridge/freezer was tiny and didn’t get cold enough to use. No microwave or coffee machine, water pressure in the shower was super low. Outlets seem stretched out and don’t hold the connection to charging box, outdated outlets, no usb ports. Ac unit is loud.
