We've stayed here many times. The rooms are always immaculate, service is impeccable, the owners are always on site, ready to help you with anything you might need. There must be a hundred pots of succulents on the property, and they are absolutely stunning!

The hotel next door had lights that shined into our room all night. We had to close our bathroom door to keep the room dark. The room was very warm at night, even with the windows open. I've noticed this at many of the hotels in Morro Bay. Cross ventilation is not good. Fortunately every room has an air conditioning unit, so we just ran the fan.

I was unaware that we would have to hike to the tent cabin and up two flights of old unsafe stairs to go to the bathrooms. Also…. The water pump made a moaning sound all night long…on both speeds.

The front desk was unbelievably rude. I came in around noon, June 5, 2025 to check in. I was asked if I want to pay for the $50 early check in option which I rejected. I was then asked if I want to sign up for a membership which I rejected. I was then asked to provide a credit card for incidentals which I obliged. I was unprepared to see a charge of ~400 dollars, and she rudely explained it’s for something like $150 per night for incidentals. Okay! No problem. After all the hassle,since she did not provide a concluding remark, I asked again about the status for my check in. She all of a sudden cut off my simple question launched into an angry lecture: could you stop talking and let me explain to you? you refused to pay for the $50 early check in. You refused to join the membership. So you don’t get preferential treatment. Your check in will be 4pm but we will inform you if the room is available earlier than 4pm. Of course I did not get an alert before 4pm. No problem. When I came back after dinner around 6:30pm, another front desk staff was polite. Nonetheless he had a hard time understanding that I was already charged for the $400 incidentals. It took him a while to figure it out in the system. My room was 1221, staying for 3 nights, in case Fairmont management wants to track down that first rude woman who received me at noon time. I recommend recording the conversations for managers to monitor staff behavior! Never in my life I have encountered this rudeness!

We stayed in a king suit which was wonderful! It was spacious & the bed was very comfortable. Our favorite part of the hotel was the staff. They were amazingly friendly and super helpful.
