  Our room was comfortable, clean, and the location was an easy drive to Denali National Park. The grounds with a pavilion overlooking the creek and a fire pit for all to use were a welcome respite after a day of hiking. The cafe on the property was delicious from their cinnamon buns in the morning to cocktails around the fire. It was a great stay in Denali.

  I’ve stayed at this place several times. The location is perfect as it’s one block from beach. And the price is always right. The rooms were renovated several years ago and have all the essentials including a small fridge.

  This time my room (#25) had some issues. Shower door needs adjusting as it didn’t open properly. The hand held shower wand and hose need replacing. (The hose leaks). Some cosmetic fixes like remove mildew and re-silicone shower. And re-painting the baseboards in the room (stained by mopping the floor) would do wonders on first impressions.

  Very difficult to find the Pack Train Inn - no signage & the entrance is on a side street. Stopped in a bed shop who sent us a few doors down to another shop…. where we were redirected around the corner and up a set of outdoor stairs. There, we were told the inn was fully booked and they were unable to honor the Booking.com reservation we’d had for two months (technical glitch). Not a small snafu as Skagway was fully booked out that night and all the stairs and extra schlepping of luggage were a challenge for my nonagenarian travel companion. The snafu was challenging for all involved. To his credit, the gentleman helped make phone calls to eventually find us another accommodation. In short I am rating the check-in process as opposed to the quality of the accommodation since we never actually saw it.

  No Air conditioning. It was absolutely horrible trying to sleep. The hallways, kitchen and lounge have AC. None at all in the room. The small fan provided did absolutely nothing to cool down the room.

  They wouldn’t honor the reservations with a lot of different guest including my self and my wife at last min they told us they had a room that wasn’t cleaned so a hour and a half later we got into the room from hell there was no tv no microwave no fridge broken toilet the house keeper was on meth plain to see that the last day the super great matanence man found us a tv and fridge

  They do not have the free Continental breakfast anymore. Maybe a free voucher for the new good option would have helped. You get an email after you reserve and pay telling you. Motel had no rooms with a walk in shower for wheelchairs. Not enough light at the bathroom mirror to shave. Otherwise I would rate it 10/10.
