- “This was my first time visiting Japan and have heard people recommend a ryokan+onsen experience, especially in Hakone. I'm so glad I did it here! I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

Owner made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Owner took the time to ask about our plans and make sure we knew how to get where we wanted to go and made a good recommendation for a traditional polish meal within walking distance. We had a nice breakfast with a variety of options including yogurt, breads and spreads, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, vegetables and boiled eggs. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The Inn is charming. We were in the area to watch a bike race. We were able to walk to and from the gondola base.”

  People were cleaning the whole location constantly, the chairs, the tables and all the facilities were pretty tidy. Good cottages in pretty good condition. Very comfy beds.

  The "contactless check-in" is way overcomplicated, first you get a link with a book to read and to sign (that is terms and conditions), then you get a questionary to answer (number of adults, children, pets and car) and then you need to do a phone call to provide credit card information. Our suggestion: how about to do that with the one link, that you send anyways? could all be in one place. One form to fill and no confusion. We missed the last point, in that overwhelming flood of messages and emails prior to check in, so we luckily did catch the lady at the check-in bureau and could provide the credit-card information there. Prior guests left dirty sporting cloths in a drawer, some food in an other drawer and one tangerine beside the microwave. All those things were in the cottage, when we arrived, that was a bit disgusting.

  The views were SPECTACULAR. We had plenty of room for more guests and will likely book again to bring our families here. The condo was sparkling and spotless when we arrived. Utensils and cookware was also provided if needed. I would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Gatlinburg. Highly impressed but the amenities offered in this unit. The porch and the landing were the most perfect spots to have Coffee or enjoy lunch. I had coffee on the porch all three mornings and we had late night snacks on the porch while the rain came through at midnight one night. 10/10 recommend. I would NEVER get tired of the views. That was the best thing to wake up to and pull the curtains back!

  I had a hard time getting our trash in the bins, luckily another guest came behind me and helped open the bins it was quite confusing on how to access the trash cans on site.
