Room felt safe. I really liked parking in front of my room. Hotel circle was close to everything I needed. Given how expensive San Diego is, I felt this property was a great value, even with $20 per day parking. I would stay again.

Mattress was old and lumpy, so not great night's sleep. Fridge had no freezer compartment, so my travel ice packs melted.

SO many things! Let's start with...ants! Left an empty ice cream bowl on the TV stand. In the morning, tons of ants! I took pics. (Yes, I notified the front desk at check-out minutes later, after doing my best to dispose of the ants myself) Room smell: You know that musty, old cigarette smell that someone tried to cover up with perfumes and deodorizers and carpet cleaners which simply cannot remove the underlying odor? Yeah, that. Lumpy pillows: The beds? Very comfortable. Pillows? Old, lumpy, small. Bathtub: NO drain plug; great, had to sacrifice a washcloth to sub. Chips and cracks in the tub surround. Kicker: mold under and around the grab-bar and the faucet. Took pics. Housekeeping: Insufficient towels supplied for guests: phoned front desk for additional, never arrived. Just sloppy customer service. Which brings me to: Front desk: Check-in at 2pm. Arrived shortly after 2. No one in the lobby, one maintenance guy behind the desk. He had to go get the front desk staff. I waited 6 minutes for someone to come out from the office. Why? WHY? Is this customer service? There was no one else around! It wasn't lunchtime, it wasn't dinner time; what one earth was more important than an arriving guest??

Hotel was clean and comfortable for a few nights. The rooms had fridges and microwaves which was nice. We were in the first building on the top floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent; ran out of hot food during busy times between 8-9 so had to wait a while but they still had other food options. The pool was clean and very quiet. I was usually the only person at the pool even on a Saturday in July! Close walk to pier and beach but away enough to be quiet. For the price, this place is definitely worth it. It is an older building and the rooms reflect that but overall our stay was great.

The doors were a bit confusing; the doors on the front of the building were locked from the inside so we had to walk around back to get in but the back door was closed off as they were repainting the stairs. We figured it out but different doors were open/locked each time we came and went. The bed was very small for two people and not the most comfortable. Only 2 pillows were in the room but we requested more and the staff actually brought two more up to our room.

I loved that we were on the pool level with only a short walk to the beach. The large patio and pool area were very nice and clean. There were plenty of amenities and we had everything we needed.

Upon arrival, I received notification that the shower doors in the main bath were off the track and you were trying to find someone to fix them. Noone did during our stay. Then we had an issue with the toilet overflowing with some kind of cleaning product. There was an inch of sudsy water on the floor and in the hallway. I had to use the bath towels to sop it all up. When I reported the issue, I requested to ne notified when the plumbetr arrived. I was not. The stove only had one working burner and it did not sit level. The condo was mostly clean but there was something splattered on the front of the refrigerator and the top was fairly dusty.
