I paid for the room prior to my arrival through booking.com. Travelled from Ireland for 1 week here. When I arrived I was told that my booking was cancelled and not paid for. After contacting booking.com they confirmed my booking was paid for and they had a room for us. 2 days later on a trip to Memphis my card declined while trying to buy gifts. I couldn’t understand it. Once I got WiFi and checked my bank I discovered the hotel charged me again. My spending money was gone. Went back to the hotel to tell them what happened and point blank told me they did not do this even though I showed them my bank statement after 2 (not at all helpful)receptionists they eventually said it was booking.coms fault which it wasn’t because it was the cambria hotel that showed up on my bank. Eventually they agreed it was their mistake and that they would refund the money. (That they did but I was back in Ireland when it hit my account) The morning after I spoke with the 2 receptionists I spoke with a very helpful understanding receptionist called Marina (I think) who couldn’t apologize more and offered us food and drink in the hotel complimentary. She also told me one night would be refunded to booking.com for me (never happened) We did not go to Nashville to eat and drink in that hotel we went to go to broadway unfortunately I couldn’t afford to go to broadway as they cleaned my bank account out. When I went to checkout the male reception asked me what card I wanted to pay for the meals and drinks with 😩 I won’t be going back to Nashville as it was a trip of a lifetime once off but if I could afford it I certainly wouldn’t be staying there.
