I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

The host helped us with tours but note that there are many tour companies around town that offered different pricing options. If you want convenience, book through the reception.”

  We arrived to Canon Beach 4 hours before check in so we drove to Tolovana just to see if they would let us park in the lot and head to the beach. The kind lady checked us in and upgraded us to a room with a better view and full kitchen. Great location, beautiful grounds, very clean.

  Room always smelled like cigarettes and loud people all night. Bathroom was too small no room to use the toilet. Checked in early and was given a room on the 4th floor and was told I can check in later at 3 to see if a ground room was available and when I did I was told that the lady who told me that was new and didn’t know what she was doing.

  Broken AC. Recommend not booking this place if you need AC. Stayed 4 nights and 5 days. When Highline Management asked how was the checkin, I replied that there was broken AC, missing trash bags, marijuana smell in the hallways, swimming pool that was closed, and garage parking that was accessible only when you call the front desk. Although we only cared about the ac because the unit ran 77-78 degrees most of the stay, there was no resolution of any of the issues during the 5 days. Numerous excuses from management which later led to no response. When we complied with the management's request to update them on our stay, their response was "you are free to leave" during a thunderstorm with small children. We would have been okay with any response, except for 'you can leave if you don't like it.' As a well traveled family in the real estate business, I would never work this management group nor recommend them to any other real estate operators. Please see reviews by other folks on this company. Only saving grace was the awesome staff members at the front desk who were always helpful.
