I came with my mom and brother and we stayed in a Japanese style room and opted for the public onsen, which we used at night after dinner. There were probably only 5-6 women in there at the time, not crowded or busy. I wasn't expecting much, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were a pleasant experience, especially since we didn't feel like going out of our way to find a good food place in Hakone. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel as well and the people helping us at the front desk offer great service and spoke English well, which made our experience so easy. As a budget traveler, I was a little nervous to spend $350 for a night here, but it was worth the money and experience. (And of course, everything was clean, functional, etc. Just assume the bare minimums are easily covered).”

Owner made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Owner took the time to ask about our plans and make sure we knew how to get where we wanted to go and made a good recommendation for a traditional polish meal within walking distance. We had a nice breakfast with a variety of options including yogurt, breads and spreads, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, vegetables and boiled eggs. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The Inn is charming. We were in the area to watch a bike race. We were able to walk to and from the gondola base.”

  The reception was friendly. The room was clean and accommodated our needs. It had a small, working refrigerator and a microwave. There was a functional table and good chairs. The TV worked well with no viewing problems. The linens were all clean and appeared to be relatively new. The heater worked well and wasn't at all a noise irritant. The mattress was a bit soft - but that's so subjective and I'm used to a very firm mattress, so it's not really an issue. We stayed 4 nights, it was never noisy from traffic or other patrons of the motel, and it was what we needed as a base to visit the sights and interesting tourist spots that we had on our agenda. I would return to this motel easily.

  The driveway up the hill to the motel parking lot was a bit challenging at first, but traffic wasn't bad and we could take it slow and easy.

  Great location close to Albany International Airport and close to some good restaurants. Room overall was comfortable and staff was friendly. Plenty of parking. Great place to stay if you're going on a business trip or sightseeing (if not planning to stay in doors all day)

  The room had a little cigarette smell but I believe it may have carried in from elsewhere (it wasn't strong). I tried to open the window but wasn't able to (no latches to allow it).

  I love this place -- perfectly located, comfortable, great breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The rooms are so nice. The staff is very friendly.

  The hotel has washer/dryers. They are coin op, and in order to get quarters, you have to have cash to exchange. I wanted to put it on my hotel bill, and I had no cash. Not possible. You know, a really nice perc would be if a guest is staying two or more nights, let them have a free wash/dry - or eliminate the coin op part of it altogether. What are the odds someone is going to bring tons of laundry and abuse the perc? Other issue - no spare roll of toilet paper in the room, which I noticed one evening, and I was getting low. I called to the desk and was told I could come to the desk to get a roll of toilet paper. I said I needed them to bring it to my room as I was ready for bed. I think it would be kind of customary for a guest to call the front desk for necessities and those would be delivered to the room as a matter of course. Last -- breakfast bus tubs were overflowing quite a while before breakfast service was over. These are fussy observations, I realize, but I love this place so much, I want it to not miss a trick!

  The property is clean and the suites feel very much like a small apartment. Very cozy but still a great size for the value. The staff was great, accommodating my ADA guest. Our room was located near the entrance of the building which was very much appreciated as he is mobile by wheelchair. Great place to come home to after EDC!
