Very minor things which would make the place much more comfortable * there could be a personal space over the bed and a shelf to put your phone on while you charge it. * also having a shelf in the shower would be a good thing. * clearer zone splitting where you can eat and where you can't.

The driveway was extremely narrow, not well marked or lit up. Rain was pouring down, it was almost dark and nearly impossible to see. I missed it the first pass by and had to turn around and make another pass. The "private bathroom" is separate from the room and down a dim lit hall with a keypad to enter your code. This was not stated in the listing, nor the fact that the rooms are down steep steps to the basement. I was extremely tired from driving all day through pouring rain and road construction, and the only thing I was thinking was I could finally sleep. My partner was wanting to leave as soon as she saw the accommodations and felt very uncomfortable, but I told her to try and make the best of it. After having to leave the room to use the bathroom 4 times, that was enough to convince me to check out and make other arrangements. David was less than helpful when I informed him that we had checked out early. He did not offer any other options, and of course did not offer a partial refund.

"Pay at the property" was advertised by booking.com and I provided a different payment card at the location. They placed a hold on the card I used to reserve the room for more than the total amount of the hotel (over $800.00, room was $700+ for 2 nights). Until now this $800+ pending authorization is still "pending". And they had already charged my other card. They also placed a $95 pending authorization on the other card in addition to the $800+ pending hold. Another guest had a similar complaint. This was not explained to us whatsoever. Considering the price of the room, the breakfast was poor and they included yogurt that was past the best by date, they had it delivered to your door. The location was fantastic and could have been a lovely experience if not for the poor management.
