Recently traveling in Massachusetts, this was a good stopover option for us, before heading to the Amtrak Station in Providence for our return trip to the Newark airport and home. The location was good for a relaxing afternoon and night before the long day of travel ahead. There is a great trail system (Trek Sturbridge) nearby for those who like to walk and enjoy nature....very scenic with different options, difficulty-wise. We enjoyed a stroll along the Riverlands Trail. And for those interested in history, Old Sturbridge Village is nearby.

The location away from the strip was nice and more quiet. The lazy river pool was the one thing we loved about this property. After moving rooms, the 2nd room had more space and amenities. The 2nd room had a spacious fully appointed kitchen, the first smaller room did not have all the basics in the kitchen.

This was a disappointing stay. The first night got to our room, and there wasn't enough bedding for the 2nd queen, which is a sleeper sofa (which folded when you laid on it, so you couldn't lay flat) that you have to put the bedding on yourself. They gave us 3 pillows for 4 people. At 12:30am no one would answer the front desk to bring us more bedding and pillows, I had to make the LONG walk outside around the whole resort complex back to the front desk where staff was sitting helping no one (but couldn't answer the phone). They said they would have someone to our room within 45 mins... at 12:30am, I saw a group of staff standing together in a circle outside when walking back to the front desk just standing around joking and talking. 50 minutes passed and no one came with our bedding. We called and they answered and said they didn't know where to find more bedding but they would personally come deliver bedding. 30 mins later someone else showed up with a garbage bag with bedding in it. The bathroom shower still had hair and bathing products in it and was dirty. List goes on. Next morning we switched rooms at a higher price and got a room that had a full kitchen and washer and dryer (which were both not working and had to call for repair request on). We were there in the shoulder season, but there was no bar or food at the river float pool so you had to cross the resort in your suit to go get any food or drinks for enjoying around the pool. So that was a let down too, it didn't mention that anywhere when I researched the pools being open. The restaurants food was not that great and the prices of food and drinks was crazy expensive! So overall, we would NEVER book another trip here. To end the trip, we had left our bags in bag check. When we returned we had to wait 35 minutes for someone to show up to get us our bags, no other staff could come over and help the long line of people waiting for their bags!

The “fully stocked kitchen” was bare minimum, at best. The coffee maker was so dirty and gross, I couldn’t bring myself to clean it and trust any coffee that would have been made in it. Therefore, I wasted the creamer that I bought from the grocery since I had to buy coffee from a shop… spending more money, not saving! AND, the property didn’t have hot water for 2.5 DAYS of our stay! I was only notified through the app, that it was an issue with the entire property until I submitted my second complaint!! Had I known that it would take 2.5 days for us to get hot water, I would have looked for another place to stay! Full disclosure regarding the problem would have been appreciated! Had heard from other travelers that this Sonder location was better than the one we stayed in previously, I beg to differ!
