Spacious, quiet and comfortable room, and I loved the opportunity to watch the steady stream of planes coming in to land at O'Hare from my north-facing window. The reception staff was friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was welcome. There's also a supermarket near Cumberland CTA station and an Outback Steakhouse attached to the hotel, which made dinner easy!

Other than the attached restaurant, there's not much nearby of interest. Cumberland station is a 10- to 15-minute walk along a busy road, but not with heavy luggage as there are a lot of stairs. The hotel also is rather unappealing from the outside, though inside is fine.

The gym was nice. The shuttle (which you shouldn't have to take in the first place, since the hotel is supposed to be inside the airport) was also nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean.

This hotel advertises itself as "inside DFW airport" (this is what is printed on top of the receipt you get when you check out, and it is very clear from its location on the map that it should be inside the terminal). However, after walking around for nearly an hour at midnight when my plane landed -- no one working in the airport knew how to get there, and there were no signs -- I finally managed to find wifi to call the hotel reception (I was traveling internationally and my phone service was not working correctly). They told me that while it is technically possible to walk to the hotel, it is actually not in the hotel but "adjacent" to the hotel and that you should reserve a shuttle, which you can only do by calling (good luck if you don't have service or your phone has died). This totally defeats the purpose of paying $250 dollars for a hotel when there are a dozen decent hotels near the airport with their own shuttle services for $100. The most baffling thing is that when I arrived, the receptionist insisted, again, that the hotel was not advertised as inside the airport, but 'adjacent' to it (I guess they've received this complain before) but then when you check out their letterhead literally says "Hyatt Regency DFW inside DFW Airport." Naturally they refused to provide a discount or partial refund. Bottled water is only for customers in some Hyatt membership club. There is a refrigerator very oddly placed in the middle of the room that hums all night. Breakfast is nearly $30.

3 flights of stairs was too much for me. I’m asthmatic my sister in law had to carry my suitcase. I didn’t ask for penthouse suite so I will make sure not to get that again but the view was amazing.
