- “My wife and I came to Villa Kaliente on our honeymoon, and we are in agreement that the property was probably the nicest place we've ever stayed. That said, we had a complicated stay in Nusa Penida, due to the fact that my wife sprained her ankle pretty severely the second we arrived to the island (stepping off the ferry dock onto dry land). When we got to the villa, we were completely dependent on the staff, because my wife couldn't get around. The staff (and especially the manager Putu) went above and beyond, helping us acquire crutches and an elastic bandage, as well as picking up every single meal for three days! We're very thankful for their help, which saved this leg of the trip. Unfortunately, we were basically confined to the villa for three days; fortunately, it was an incredibly comfortable place to be stuck! We stayed in the king suite on the upper floor, which has an amazing balcony, and the most shockingly high-quality interiors of any place we've been. Everything was beautiful and comfortable: the furniture, the shower, the bathtub, the bed, the built-in cabinetry. We wish we could live in this room!! My wife was on the couch icing her ankle most of the time, and it was the coziest couch imaginable. The fantastic view of Mount Agung from the pool / our balcony is something I will remember forever.”

  This house was perfect for me! The location and the yard made my trip so much easier. If you have children or pets that plan to play outside, the fence does not have any gaps. Everything I needed (other than food or drinks, of course) was provided AND CLEAN. There is even a garage space included if you need to store something securely. I was in town for my mother’s surgery at MD Anderson and to help settle the estate of my aunt in Sharpstown so the location was perfect! The bed and couch were comfortable and all the appliances are new. Also, HEB is a block away if you forget anything for your trip. This property would be perfect for a long term stay too. I do also have to add how great the interaction was with Lizz. I have stayed at other properties where the owner left a list of things I was expected to do and clean to avoid hefty additional fees and that was not the case here. It gave me a place to actually relax during my extremely stressful trip.

  The staff/owner was super friendly. There was an inebriated gentleman that was talking to me while I was waiting in the car and the owner came out to make sure the guy wasn’t bothering me. When my husband was unpacking the car and unloading my oxygen machine, the owner rushed over and asked if my husband needed any help. Over and above the nicest location we stayed at on our trip to Texas and back to Atlanta.

  Quiet & beautiful new cabin in bass harbor. Walked to the lighthouse & dinner. Owner was the best I’ve ever seen. So much better being in bass harbor than bar harbor which is a tourist trap, so busy.

  The location and the property was decent. The rooms were clean and met my expectation per the rate of the room in June timeframe. The location was nice.

  The experience I had at the front desk on 06/14/24 was not decent. I booked 2 rooms in one transaction and paid with my CC, six months ago and while booking they might have asked for a person name for the rooms and I used my son's name (he is 20 years old), I didn't remember this dtail. Our family drove from the bay area in 2 separate cars to reach there and we faced huge traffic conditions. My son and daughter were in a separate car and were 2 hours behind or car. The front desk refused to give me the key/checkin for the second room and talked rudely with us. We spend 40 minutes requesting and explaining the situation and it was not a pleasant experience. Finally, the other nice lady accommodated our request. The other catch is that if you are planning to eat the free breakfast there ensure to not check out early as they will not let you enter the facility to eat breakfast :(
